The best part of the game was the partial shot of Purdy (could see his face) walking off the field after the winning TD and he had the look of defeat on his face.

Part of me is really hoping this game was as unimaginative on offense as it was simply because the coaches didn't want to show anything.
Mission accomplished.

Same here. Feel embarrassed to be honest. BUT YET, you always take the win.

Now I hope for 2 weeks straight our players hear they have no shot against Iowa.

Also offensive Coaches need to take a hard look at themselves over this one.

I hope Iowa destroys the U of Ohio

I hear you, although we know otherwise. Seriously, it looks like the wildcards from Purdy that gave our offense a needed edge a year ago, has been coached out. We need him to improvise, as that creates more advantages than our staff can. See UNI’s freshman qb scrambling his way to keeping an outclassed UNI offense in the game.

Games like this are the cost of the approach working against good teams. What makes games against top-25 talent close, makes UNI/Drake close

Yeah, just based on that box score one could conclude:

- we ran the ball well
- Purdy was efficient
- only 5 penalties and 1 turnover
- very good defense

Doesn’t really seem right.

That's what absolutely horrible play calling in crucial situations can do to you.

The 6.8 yds per pass attempt is troublesome though.

I still will never understand why teams don't throw it deep more often. The odds are almost all with you. The majority of the time it's either going to be completed, incompleted, or get a pass interference called on the defense. And in the small chance it gets intercepted, it's as good as a punt basically.

Definitely didn't deserve that win, but glad to get it.

Someone brought up a good point.... did we already have the 1st down when we fumbled? I assume we did, but it does bring up the question of whether it may have been fumbled forward, in which case it would have had to been brought back to where it was fumbled, right?
Didn't have the first down. He did fumble forward. Yes, it's legal to do, if it's not intentional.

Props to Purdy for getting on it. He was not in the best position to get it.
