I know Houston is a turd, but I thought he could at least count! That should be interesting to watch how it plays out.
Alabama did the same thing last year. Saben was quoted as saying he signs as many as he can and then worries about it when the fall starts. People don't qualify, some kids transfer. Apparently the SEC doesn't have a limit put in place like the Big 12 and Big 10
It's very frustrating that we lost out on Mars to this school, are they even D-1? You don't have to answer that

Of course you'd like to see us sign a bunch of local kids too, but it's not awful to have inroads in some of these football mecca states.

They don't have an annual limit? That is interesting that the NCAA doesn't have a regulation across all schools.

Heck, I played against the Cattlefeeders in high school. Girls basketball is what they hung their hat on. Several times State Champs.

...im just happy to see us recruiting everywhere and getting in on a lot of good players. not a lot of schools have a recruiting class with players who came from 9 different states.

Are the athletes in Alabama that much better than the ones in Iowa? Alabama has about a million more residents than Iowa, and yet look at all the talent coming out of that state. Just by taking a quick look at some SEC school commit lists on Rivals, I am counting 11 players from the state of Alabama that are rated 4 star or better. That's just looking at about 4 SEC schools. There may be more. How many 4 stars came out of Iowa? 2-3?
Are we just unathletic piles?
Maybe the star system is more ridiculous than we think.
They get more football work over their carreers. They don't have summer baseball and have spring football. So they play a full fall, then other sports get over before a three week spring football followed by a summer fulll of skill camps and team camps...
Alabama lives and breathes high school football. I don't see how anyone can compare Alabama high school football to Iowa. They aren't even close.
Other states just play football a lot more than Iowa does. They also take it quite a bit more seriously. Iowa takes it serious, but I think high school kids look forward to baseball and basketball more than football. Plus it's easier to get out and play year round in the south as opposed to trying to play in January in Iowa.
