I am guessing that sites like Rivals are becoming more liberal with their star allotments. Considering all the flack they get, as well as the thought of trying to sell subscriptions in this economy, I'll bet they are throwing stars around like candy these days.
also the two free videos that they interview Scott Fountain and Chris Ash about the 2009 class and both say they feel Jake Knott is the best "under the radar" player... they feel he can really be special. im glad we picked up my classmate!!!

You can probably make all kinds of claims about why players are given the ratings that they are, and what those ratings really mean, and that's fine. But, for the purposes of the discussion we were having about TCU we were comparing this year's recruiting rank based on the star system to years past. Regardless of what those rankings mean, they were the basis for the discussion.
Take a look at this class from 2004(per Rivals):
1 four-star
11 three-stars
17 two-stars
And almost none of the 3 or 4 star guys made that big of an impact in their career at ISU (if they even showed up).
Looks about just as good as 2009s doesn't it?
How did that class turn out?

Precisely....these guys need to get to campus (i.e. qualify) and show that they can do something on the field before anyone declares this a great class.
After looking at the names on that list, I want to fire DMac again!
Ugh, what a horrible horrible recruiting class.
The 4 star was Webster Patrick.
The only players that were any good out of that class were Tim Dobbins, LaMarcus Hicks and RJ Sumrall. Coincedentally they were all 2 stars.
And look at this former EIU 5 star recruit who's getting 37 years in the slammer. Oh the irony. Ferentz must have had an eye for talent back then....

AJ Klein from Kimberly WI is a big pickup. And his comments in today's local newspaper were solid.
