***Official portal tracker thread***

That’s a little much if so. If these guys want to do it on their own, great. Don’t stop them. If someone wants to sit it out. Fine.

Played basketball in high school and there were some kids pretty religious and our PG/captain was son of a pastor. He would lead prayer for those that wanted to participate. Others would sit out but tone down whatever else they were doing out of respect for their teammates. Really not hard.
I didn't want to say anything at the time, but I heard right away he was forcing his beliefs on the team and not everyone was of his denomination. Probably not hard to figure out who at the time based on their backgrounds.

Wouldn't even need to be discussed if these fake players and coaches wouldn't start off every resignation later the same way.
it doesn’t look like the topic itself is the issue.

Funny how people who melt like little snowflakes in the sun when an anonymous person on a message board expresses an opinion they don’t like can be so cavalier about letting an ostensibly adult state employee (who is the gatekeeper of kids’ playing time, NIL, and even future) potentially violate the rights of a protected class who are impressionable young adults.

Hyper fixated people sometimes get relief from their issues through prayer, just saying. :D

SIAP. Thought it was apropos.

"Everybody's announcing what they're doing," Smart said Monday at his Sugar Bowl press conference. "I'm announcing that I'm going in the portal. I'm announcing that I'm re-signing. How about you announce that you're getting better and you're going to practice and, like, actually do what the 20 and 30 years of college football players did before you, which was practice in December when they're on good teams, and get better?"

The hard part of all this is we were told we built a place where kids turned down more money to play at Iowa State.

That was the culture we as fans helped MC build…

Now we find out we financed MC building a team loyal to him that would sell out with him for more money.

And we rightfully feel kicked in the nuts by that.

BUT I’m fully on board with JR. It’ll be new names…but I think we’ll like the results.
Since this is only 2nd year post House Settlement, old ideas about loyalty, culture and money are antiquated.

It was just 2 years ago Ohio State's Coach Day was pushing boosters to raise an unheard of $15M to support their NIL Collective. That's pretty much the low-end for P4 programs today.

It's a Brave New World!
