If manning is still offensive coordinator I’m not renewing my tickets
Anybody in the program will tell you CMC is very integral in the Offense and Manning plays the exact schemes that he wants. That's why it hasn't changed or evolved in years.

Now, CMC needs to be here for the long-term, but HE has to evolve offensively or just changing the guy wearing the coordinator headset isn't going to matter.

Where have we heard this before? Lol

So many things to point the finger at that contributed to us losing that game but all roads lead to 1 person and he is in charge of it all. No of course I don’t want him fired but the underachieving of the past 2 season requires changes to be made.

This is the big leagues these days in college football and you make a lot money and can’t be afraid to make coaching changes and recruit over players who have been in the program if you can upgrade.

Unfortunately, it really feels like ISU has lost all their momentum between the disappointing season last year and their failure to rebound this year. It feels like they either need to make some very serious changes to the coaching staff or move on from Campbell.

The problem is, I don't think moving on from Manning will really change anything. It's not like Campbell would let the next OC bring in a dramatically different offense. I think we're largely running what Campbell wants the team to run, it just hasn't been that effective.

Tom Manning makes me look fondly upon the days of Messingham and his bubble screens.
mf - thought I had expunged my memory of the ****-show offense it was under Messingham. Manning is definitely in that territory, which should be damning. One decent/good drive per half. The rest? Getting hit in the balls is more entertaining.

Holy **** the O Line sucks
I AGREE this offensive line is NOT DIVISION ONE QUALITY! No push whatsoever on any run plays and poor Dekkers is running for his life the entire game...It's time to FIRE THE OFFENSIVE LINE COACH AND ALSO THE STRENGTH COACH AFTER THIS LOUSY SEASON!!

The most frustrating thing is despite everything that went wrong a WR flat dropped a TD pass that would have won the game.
Ha, true!

I think it goes back to what I’ve noted in past postgame threads; our scheme this season is SO easy to defend, it’s SO easy to prepare for, that it makes every single play SO hard for Iowa State. We make everything look so hard. Bad scheme and bad units like the Oline make it impossible for any sort of consistent rhythm. Players are rarely ever “schemed open”. And when they are - like the fake reverse pass to the TE - everyone’s reaction is like - “holy sh*t wow great play!” (that got, what, 15 yards!?)

Noel dropping that easy PERFECTLY THROWN deep ball, in stride, which would have been a beautiful touchdown, really isn’t all that surprising. Like X, these guys are rarely ever THAT open, and the constant nervous energy around the entire offensive “system” is contagious. I see very little free-flowing confidence across any of the offensive units, so I assume that we’ll continue to see WR’s get the yips in key situations. I certainly have no confidence in the coaches working it out of them.

Pretty common for coaches to get early momentum and Peter out after a few years. I hope Campbell is willing to adapt and change, but unfortunately many coaches don’t.

Starting to feel like Campbell has maxed out at Iowa State. Sure hope I'm wrong.

Pretty hard to not realize where we are. This isn't good.

Lots of QBs gonna make some dumb mistakes. Im prone to giving Dekkers a pass on a lot of this. Noels drop was ****** inexcusable. And thats not the first time Dekkers put up a ball that should win the game and instead we lose. Purdy made some stupid mistakes lets not forget that
You could be right BUT Brock Purdy is on an NFL Roster and Hunter Dekkers will never make the practice squad in the NFL!!

More than any team in the Rhoads era this has been by far the LEAST enjoyable season of ISU football I’ve ever experienced.
You should have been around for Jimmy Dean Walden's Last Season
0 Wins 10 Losses & 1 Tie! They FIRED POOR JIMMY DEAN WALDEN MID SEASON!
The first game of the season was against UNI of course and with Curt Warner at quarterback UNI had 384 Yards of offense midway through the 3rd quarter to the best of my recollection!!

Knoles is a decent receiver, and that was disappointing to say the least. Other than X most or the WR are serviceable.

I did like the fake reverse play because it showed some miss direction, which we almost never see. 80% of the first downs today were some kind of run up the middle. It is like ISU is trying to lose these games.
