***Official Olympics Discussion***

What I don't understand is why they would show a competition that didn't involve an American in primetime. It's not like it was some close competition or anything.
NBC wants to keep the illusion that this isn't all pre-taped.

It is kinda nice to see the other countries do things, but for me it is giving me time to sort and de-tag baby clothes so I can wash them :)

I love how NBC airs this stuff like everything is going on live. Like "guys, we're at gymnastics, but let's break away and see if Michael Phelps can win his 18th medal."

If they said it was a replay they would probably lose a good chunk of audience so they present it like its live.

Phelps blew that one.

yes he did. Not having a great Olympics, yet he's got 3 medals (2 silvers and a gold) with some events still left to go. Some of the talking heads need to calm down about how horrible he's been. He was never going to repeat his 2008 results.

He should have put down the bong and practiced a little more.

Considering you are talking about the greatest swimmer in history and one of the 5 greatest olympians ever, that's kind of like saying Michael Jordan should have practiced more. He didn't win squat as a Wizard!!
