Colin Cowherd went on a rant today about USC and their search. He said they have to go the pro route now with NIL. He's connected in LA so this makes sense. And if Bieniemy can't get a pro gig this is the route to go if he wants to be a head coach. He may regret not taking his alma mater Colorado's gig a couple years ago if he knew he would keep getting pass up for pro jobs.
Cowherd is also a pro Andy Reid guy and named Matt Nagy and Doug Pederson as guys USC should target. Now with Bieniemy that's three former Andy Reid Offensive Coordinator's linked to USC today.
I don't understand why people are getting mad at the journalists and websites, you'd have to be a pretty **** journalist to not even mention Campbell, even if there is a small chance that he actually leaves, he's one of the hottest candidates out there for all of the top jobs.
Big Bieniemy fan, but expect his legal history to have much more issue with a college job than a pro job. Certainly think he's done his time and paid his dues, but college mob will come calling - especially at USC.
He's certainly deserving of of a pro job.
Matt is not going to USC. Talk about square peg in round hole. The only concern relative to that job would be if Franklin was their guy. Penn State would be a great fit for him.

In situations like this where the firing happens so early, do they just roll with the interim head coach the remainder of the season? Or do they ever pursue a midseason hiring from coaches like Stoops that are currently not with a team?
It may not be USC, right now, but the Big 12 implosion / "expansion" makes his departure even more inevitable.
Correct, but if he went to USC and wins or loses, he’s less likely to jump to tOSU if the job opens. I don’t think tOSU fans have an appetite for Fickell anyway. CMC, Mike Vrabel, Brian Hartline would be the top choices imo.

Both Southern Cal and Nebraska have ravenous ....WIN HUNGRY....Fanbases, who continue to dump coach after coach.....Both will eventually Luck Out and find a coach who can win a conference title for them but not much more!!

I'd bet you wouldn't have to search very hard to find some Ohio State fans calling for his job after the Oregon lost.
