The low scores at the beginning of the thread bothered me, but the later predictions prevailed. I think our offense will open up in a big way. Our defense will be stout, but history has shown that Toledo will score at least one TD courtesy of a turnover and another TD will be a big play. They'll get a few field goals.

Toughest game of the year I think. Going on the road to a place w/ distinct homefield advantage and playing a team that will spread our ever thinning secondary out and dink and dunk all night. ISU will need to play their best game of the year to win.

Can anybody remember the last game that cyclones took control and was able to put in 2nd and third string? It was probably the A&M game 2 years ago but they didn't pull away until later in that game if I remember correctly. Hopefully they can win this one comfortably.

FYI The last 5 ISU victories have come on the last play of the game.

UGLY win... but a win none the less.

31-29 ISU

Toledo has been waiting for this game for 360+ days. ISU wins one on the road!

ISU's offense hasn't generated many TD's on any given saturday. I believe that this would be the game our offense will come up big and score many TD's. They will once again play with a lot of confidence and beat Toledo by at least 2 TD. FInal score:

ISU - 35
Toledo - 21

Our playbook opens a little further on Saturday. We will see a reverse pass from Bates to Blythe for at least one TD.

The big problem for Toledo this season has been its atrocious defensive unit, which ranks near the bottom in every major defensive category. The Rockets are surrendering a whopping 502.3 total ypg, which has led to an abysmal 49.7 ppg. The team has been abused for 231.3 ypg on the ground and an even worse 271 ypg through the air. The defense was once again dismantled, this time by Kansas, as the Jayhawks racked up 558 total yards. Toledo was abused for 232 rushing yards in the loss and another 325 yards via the pass. The Rockets did have some success, as the unit forced three turnovers and recorded four sacks. Walter Atkins was sensational in the setback, as the cornerback collected 8.5 tackles.
This will definitely be one of the worst offenses Toledo will face this season. The Cyclones have been unable to put any type of consistency together, but that could all change this weekend, especially since the Rockets have been so bad defensively.
