Quite the lightshow and heavy rain just passed Waukee.

No hail or tornadoes, though.

In West Des Moines, found a water spot above my upstairs bathroom tub. It is on an outside wall along the angle of the roof so can't really get a good look at it getting in the attic either. Heading out tonight for family vacation too. Can't decide to just cut some drywall out and make sure it would drain in the tub for the 5 days we are gone, or leave it til we get back. Roof was new in 2019 too. UGH

Might be worth drilling a hole at least. Don’t want water to build up. But a hole is easy to patch later.

Two very large branches in my front yard that require a chainsaw. I walked out of my mens group meeting this morning and could hear electricity buzzing. I’m guessing from branches on a power line nearby.

Sump pump finally ran here in WDM. Most the downhill neighbors' had been running at points over the past week or so. Ground is finally saturated enough to cause mine to run.

Heard it rain hard overnight but didn't sound like it got that windy in Grimes and the sirens never went off which they seem to go off even when there is not a lot of wind. 1.4" in my rain gauge. Really would just like a dry week as everything is really saturated at this point.
