Within a span of a few days I went from wondering how my decorative fall mums are handling the heat to worrying about whether I need to cover them at night.

It's officially fall. Just went outside and can see my breath so guessing the frosty malt warning for tonight is accurate. Rummaged around in the basement for old sheets to cover the mums and super petunias. If plants make it tonight it looks smooth sailing for the next 10 days for extending the bloom (well, only for the plants the ******* rabbits and deer don't eat).
