Is that a thing teams still do? Throw at you for acting like kids?
 
PCA may have more value to this team long term than Tucker. I know they have him under control for awhile but why not offer him a 10 year deal now that will not only give him some financial security but also save the Cubs some money in the long run.

There's zero chance he's going to pass up being a free agent at 27.

Not so sure. If all goes well my best guess he makes 1 2 5 10 20 over the next five years. I never saw how many years the previous offer was but it wouldn’t be a bad move to build a little security in just in case the unthinkable happens. Something like adding 100 mil and 2 years onto his best case scenario through arbitration still puts him in his prime next contract but gives the Cub a guaranteed seven years
