Looks like there is a tornado near Mitchellville. Shouldn't be a threat to the metroThe tornado sirens are going off in Ankeny. Is this a mistake?
Radar is showing the tornadic activity closer to Colfax/Prairie City now....although it looks like it started in Mitchellville. The tornado sirens are going off in Ankeny. Is this a mistake?
Yeah WTF. Went off in Johnston too. Nothin happening here at all. Barely a breeze at all. I turn the radar on expecting something big to be coming and there is a storm near Mitchellville, already way past the metro. Why blare the sirens in places where the storm is clearly 15-20 miles East and is moving away? Just because the "warning" caught a tiny sliver of the county? The tornado sirens are going off in Ankeny. Is this a mistake?
I was thinking the same thing. The Ankeny sirens seem to go off much more frequently than they used to that I worry folks may not take them as seriously when a real tornado is bearing down on us.Yeah WTF. Went off in Johnston too. Looks like Chicago agrees with you.Right at an inch in West Ames. A lot of corn was made with that rain.
Dayton got 5" and Ackworth, 4.8" according to Megan on WHO-TV this morning.
I need to work an issue out with my neighbor whose 10' long black tile tube they have off their downspout that they have so graciously placed it so it points about a foot straight into my yard.![]()
