Max Velocity is great. Ryan Hall has kind of jumped the shark, but Max is just a straight up broadcast meteorology junkie. The future of weather coverage imo.

I will say that some of his Iowa city pronunciations have been hilarious. He once called Ames "A mess"

I don't know if this was posted, but I just saw it elsewhere online from the storms that formed over central Iowa into a derecho and did a lot of damage in Illinois and Indiana last night.

Yeah went out and did some yard work and thought hey maybe I won't be drenched at the end of it this time....wrong.

Yeah it's like a lower temp but it doesn't have that 'air out of the balloon' feeling.

And I typically associate lower temps with less bugs (not guaranteed and the recent rain doesn't help) but if I was out of the wind today mosquitos and whatever else was around was all over me.

Our roof was getting replaced yesterday so I was anxiously watching that cell as they finished up. Thankfully it was slow to make it to West Ames and they were out of here before it started sprinkling. I only ended up with a tenth, though.

Yes, the humidity cranked up this morning out of nowhere and with the cold front moving through it just fired up out of nowhere

East Ames is just getting hammered with heavy rain and wind. A little bit of hail too.
I thought it might just miss us but I guess not.

Got 1.5” of rain last night south of Algona. Seems strange to say, but we needed a nice rain. Neighbors light spots in a bean field have started turning brown.
