Bates could be a good college basketball player as an upperclassmen in my opinion. Wasn't consistent this year but flashed some nice games. For example he had 14 in Indiana's Big Ten tourney loss to Penn State.

I'm not sure he fits our system but it felt like Bates never really found his role at Indiana. I would also say that's not necessarily an indictment against him as Indiana was an underachieving team relative to their talent level and experience.

Way up there

Some insight here about issues at UNC. Loves father was pretty blunt about things. The title game run was a house of cards that is coming tumbling down.

Similar to how I view it. At risk of blanket statement, could be "I'm going to get mine" priority/mentality.

Then again, that type of player could be a major benefit, if it's incorporated correctly.
Great for those players, but yeah. Seems like transferring would be the backup option and the enthusiasm wouldn't quite be there.
