Not a big fan of the Iowa State Meteorology grads on the board, huh?
Not that, just been spending a lot of time in forums where double entendres are common.

I would guess most schools in the western 2/3rds of the state cancel tomorrow. We told the kids today to take their Chromebook home and if we cancel, we will be going online tomorrow.
As on 10:45 we are still going.

have about 3" in the drive way here in NE Iowa. had to go out and pull the rental car (Dodge Charger) into the garage for the fiancée, only took 3 tries with the economy car tires that are on it on an inclined driveway.

Just got in from cleaning the wife’s car so she can go to work. About 3-4” on the ground in Beaverdale. Really windy.

Johnston is completely cancelled, including all online learning.

I get around
Altoona-we have about 6"+ of snow on the deck in the backyard. The backyard has tall windbreak trees so the snow gets deeper there when accompanied by wind. Elsewhere it's about 4"-5" but the wind is blowing sideways so it's hard to tell. This is nasty!

This is what I find maddening. They have put a system in place to allow for remote learning from the pandemic. They knew it was going to snow yesterday. Why didn't they make plans to have students take their devices home and do remote learning today?

Ankeny is cancelling but I believe teachers are allowed to use it as a telework day so they don't have to add another work day in the summer.

Students have an extra day or two built in already so they don't have to make this up nor make it a virtual day.

Omaha has only gotten 1-2 so far. It's hard to tell with the 30-50 winds. Radar still shows a massive blue spot backing down over us.
Of course it's garbage day in my neighborhood and idiots put their trash out last night.

Hard to tell how much snow we have here in Adel. Seemed like maybe 4” or so, but the drifts are high and the wind is blowing strong. Shoveled just a little bit in front of the door and it seemed pretty wet. There was also a sheen of ice on the few roads that had been plowed.
