Let me wife use the snowblower this morning.... I guess I'll have to find something else to do when it snows out now. She took it over and was in beast mode for a good hour and half, doing neighbors side walks and clear the ends of the driveway due to the wet heavy snow.

I don't have a snowblower and that was a heavy one. Did mine and then the day care provider's as well as her person hadn't come yet. Man that was heavy, sticky snow.

Man, that would suck to have to go to "online school" instead of having a snow day. These are troubling times.

But if the school is going online today, they can count it as a contact day, therefore we do not have to make it up.

Our school fooled around and did not cancel until 6:18 this morning, I was just getting ready to head up to the shower and get ready. Every school around had cancelled before 6:00. Not sure why it takes the guy so long to realize that the road are horrible and just decide to cancel for the day. I drive 40 miles one way and other drive further, so we are leaving by 7:00 at the latest to get there.

Done with my rant for the day.

Go cyclones

The sticky snow was cobbing up my snowblower. I had to stop multiple times to clear out the thrower etc. This was especially bad at the end of the driveway. Very slushy. Helped out a couple of neighbors with those areas so it was jus our house this was happening too. I'd say5 inches at our house but tough to tell. You can see grass in some areas but there are drifts halfway up my thigh. I am 6ft.

i thought NWS had Central Iowa at 2-4 inches yet from the backside of this?

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that was supposed to fall throughout the day today. And in Central Iowa, it's not. Since this wrap-around pattern is mostly west of I-35 at present, I'm not clear if Central Iowa is done or if this heavier looking portion that's in Minnesota right now is going to hit us.

I won't complain if we are done. We are flipping a home and I've got to get there and clear the snow, it is going on the market today.

That's from 6 am onwards, some of that has already fallen. Also, the band has pushed a bit further west than initially predicted so I'd bet on lower amounts in central Iowa

While the heavier stuff is going to generally pull south into Iowa the system itself is weakening and those bands are likely to as well as time goes on.

1/3 of my driveway is bare concrete. Some spots have 18 inch drifts.

I'm SO SO SO happy to have a 2 stage for those drifts, my corner lot and this wet and heavy snow. Just destroys this stuff. If I wasn't working this morning, I would have blown out several neighborhood driveways.

will have to get the blower out yet this afternoon, NWS shows us as just under 2" last I checked but there is easily 4"+ in the driveway plus what the plow left this morning.

I have a driveway shared with two other houses that doesn't get cleared unless I do it. Infuriates me.

Our house is the first pull in off the driveway. I've always been tempted to clear it to my driveway and stop but never brought myself to do it. Today may be the day.
