Don't disagree but ISU isn't listed in McClung's initial contact list.
"The schools that have reached out to McClung so far are Florida, Auburn, Texas A&M, Arkansas, USC, BYU, Wake Forest, Tennessee, Gonzaga, Utah, Arizona State, Oklahoma State and Georgia, sources tell 247Sports."

I haven't actually seen Prohm involved with any of the recent transfers, unlike back in April where it seemed ISU was associated with 4 out of 5 after they announced. The optimist in me leads me to think the staff is confident with a couple of names they are farther down the portal with.
the staff’s selectiveness lately has been super interesting. i mean they have to feel good about somebody or have something lined up right???

I'm sure that some kids reach out informally through intermediaries (friends, family, coaches, etc) to schools that interest them before entering the portal.

I can't imagine anything more guaranteed in this whole process than this.
Most of these guys know where they're headed when they enter, I'm sure. The ones who don't probably don't know for good reason.

Yep, Not only that but most of them even know when they release a top 5 or 10. They just like the attention each fan base gives them. Sure some can be swayed, but normally they just like that 5 fan bases are talking about them.

That or they’re doing it as a formality or a favor to coaching staffs

I think it's that and you gotta make it look legitimate.
Sure, everyone who follows it or participates knows the deal, but tons of people have no idea.

Do we have any interest and/or chance with Georgetown guard Mac McClung?

Sounds like his NBA feedback was "to become more of a facilitator". He played off the ball at Georgetown, and wants to be somewhere that "feels like home" and can play point guard.

Interest, probably. Have a chance? Probably not. Everybody in the country who has a scholarship available wants him.

We would love to have him but we have no chance

It's just a guess, but I have a feeling Clarence Nadolny from Texas Tech is going to being forced to transfer. Tech is one over on scholarships, and he's the only one left on the roster that had little to no production last season. Beard has been known for forcing those type of players out, especially if they are out of scholarships.

Always though he made a bad choice going to Tech. I wanted that kid pretty bad. We missed on him and got Grill instead. How come big ten kids transfer within the big 10 but Big 12 kids always seem to go elsewhere.

If he does transfer, I'd be very surprised if we weren't at the top of his list for places he would want to go.
