*** Official 2015-16 NBA Playoff Thread ***

Uncle lived in Canada and went to visit him. Ended up going to a Raptors game on the trip. Only NBA game I've been to. Being 7 and watching Vince Carter play ball it was impossible not to become a fan after that.
he is my favorite non Iowa state basketball player of all time. I loved watching him so much as a kid I brought Nike Vince carter shoes for my basketball games. That man could drunk like no other.

Not a good night for Love in his first real high pressure game since probably UCLA in the Final Four. Caves need him to hit shots, but they were better off with him sitting last night.

The national TV guys (ex-coaches) called them out big-time for no suspension.

Puts integrity of the games in question.

Maybe some of us are NBA newbies, but anybody who remembers how a Championship was given to the Spurs because the Suns were given cripping suspensions...for a cheashot play started by a Spurs players...cannot possibly think it was fair to not suspend Green.

From this point on, the NBA can never return to that kind of rigid crippling overreaction punishment. If this signals the end of that, I'm cool with it because it was dumb. If this is a short break only because they don't like the idea of a 73 win team going down to a team from Oklahoma than that would be what I expect from the NBA over the decades.

You can't have a universe where the Spurs are gifted that title and the Suns are likely stripped of their only title, then also have things like Green going without missing a game.

You think the NBA is really against OKC getting to the Finals? I mean, I could buy that if it was Toronto or someone but OKC has two of the five best and most marketable players in the whole league, they've got the whole will Durant leave subplot hanging over the team, they play exciting basketball, a LeBron-Durant Finals rematch would be huge ratings too.

The difference between the two incidents is that the rule for players leaving the bench area during an on court altercation was pretty black and white and didn't leave room for interpretation. Even though Diaw and Stoudemire only wandered a few feet from the bench just to see what happened, it didn't matter under the letter of the rule.
Green's kick was open to interpretation. I think just about everyone would agree that he kicked his leg out intentionally. But whether he kicked it out to draw contact or whether he meant to kick Adams in the junk is open to debate. Personally, I think it was a dirty play meant to hurt Adams and a suspension should have been handed out. But it could pretty easily be seen as incidental contact in an attempt to draw a foul.
And the upgrade to a Flagrant 2 means that he's standing right on the edge now. One more flagrant foul (totally possible considering his style of his play) at any point in the remainder of the Warriors' postseason run will result in an automatic one game suspension. My guess is that he's going to have to rein it in a bit because the refs will be watching closely.

To most NBA fans yes, but the NBA is trying to bring in people who dont usually watch the NBA, and that will happen more with Curry and the Warriors than it will with OKC. The NBA wants Warriors/Cavs. Anything else will mean lower ratings.

As a non-NBA fan I wouldn't care about and almost certainly wouldn't watch a Lebron-Durant finals, I would probably watch at least some of a Warriors vs. Anyone Finals just because I think watching Curry play is entertaining.

And there would be some non-NBA fans watch to see if Toronto could steal a title, some non-NBA fans who would watch to see if James could finally bring a title to Cleveland, some non-NBA fans who would watch to see Curry and/or if GSW can repeat and some non-NBA fans who would watch to see OKC. It's ridiculous to think the NBA cares who plays. They don't. Their TV contract is already signed.

They have let Green get away with crap all year, so unless he kills someone he's probably good.
