*** Official 2015-16 NBA Playoff Thread ***

I think Curry's game is more suited to dominating a regular season than dominating the playoffs and finals. Still they won and title and nearly another because they have such a talented team with so many weapons.

The individual players who typically dominate the playoffs are physical beasts or they BECOME physical beasts as a way to get though this thing. Jordan and Kobe scored a ton as thin athletic high flyers out of the gate in the playoffs but they became consistent winners in the playoffs when they bulked up. Then you've got guys like Shaq and LeBron who are physical mismatches from day one, Magic was a beast compared to the guards he could line up against.

Curry could heat up and carry a team to a title, he could have crazy scoring averages in the regular season, but I don't ever see his playoff scoring INCREASING over his regular season scoring the way shooting guards like MJ, Kobe and Wade could.

I think two things happened to Curry:

1) I think his injury spooked him a little bit and made him avoid contact. His 3 point shooting is obviously impressive, but in the regular season he was just as impressive getting to the rim and finishing. He'd often get his stroke going getting to the line. He just really had no interest going into the paint this series.2)

2) I just hated the way the whole series was officiated. He couldn't get any space because he was getting abused trying to get through screens. There was one point last night where Thompson was literally hugging him off the ball. In a way I like letting them play, but that was no the way the league was officiated all year up to the finals.

That's always the playoffs and especially finals are. You had possibly the second best player of all time getting hacked on a layup last night with no call very late in game 7. The playoffs and finals have always been and will always be more physical than the 82.

The injury thing would make sense to me if he hadn't had a ho-hum finals last year. I just don't think it's ever going to be easy for a superstar undersized player to translate or even IMPROVE his game from regular season to the finals.

Not saying he sucked or anything. Just for a perimeter player to have an incredible regular season line, and maintain or improve it for the finals I think you need to be a physical player like MJ, Kobe, LeBron, Wade, etc...

If the regular season was called the same way as the NBA Finals was, there would be no healthy players left to play in the playoffs and it would be scrubs vs. scrubs for the NBA title.

If you are going to allow constant moving screens and let the offensive players run into and push off the defender, then you have to let the defender hold and grab too. Curry and Thompson push off to get open all the time, which is fine as long as they let the defense get away with contact too (which they did).

They let a ton of contact go around the basket too, for both teams.

So you're saying if they start officiating like that, there may be hope for the Sixers after all?

With the Sixers starters as bad as they are, just imagine how bad their scrubs are! Philly is gonna be better with Embiid coming back this year. Trade Okafor or Noel and get out of the way!

I think he was nowhere close to 100%, and that story will be leaked fairly soon. It wouldn't surprise me if he ends up having offseason surgery on that knee to clean it up. He never looked comfortable for long stretches after that. There were flashes here and there, but he wasn't the same player.

Today will be his last show at ESPN thankfully. Also I heard the city with the longest title drought with 3 pro teams in it now belongs to Minneapolis.
Cincinnati is at 26 years but they only have 2 pro teams. Minnesota and DC are tied at 25 years. Toronto is at 23 years and Atlanta is at 21. DC Seems to be the closest to getting off the list with both the Capitals and the Nationals being serious contenders. No end in sight for Minnesota.
