Ugh, he's been beyond terrible. And the bad news is that this isn't just a matchup problem; mentally, he's completely gone in the tank.
Still, at least they staved off elimination. David West carried them late.
Anything's possible with that group. Nobody knows what to expect anymore. They could win going away or lose by twenty and neither outcome would surprise me.Now they will lose big in game 7 at home.
How you feeling about Indy going into Game 7 now? Any clue which team will show up? Didn't get to watch the game last night but looks like Vogel completely dropped Turner and Scola from the rotation.
I love seeing all these series go seven games, it's turning into a big advantage for the teams that got through quickly (Miami), all these 38,40, 45 minutes games add up for these guys.
If I was a gambler, I wouldn't touch this game. I have no idea what team is showing up for Indy. Vogel's gone small, so you're not seeing any extended minutes for Hibbert, Scola, or Mahinmi. Something else to keep an eye on is the league's review of the little dust-up between Mike Scott and George Hill at the end of the first half. Video shows that Paul George left the bench. According to the letter of the NBA rule, that's an automatic suspension. If he can't play, then ATL wins easily. With no George in the lineup, the Pacers would struggle to crack 75.
I saw that, I'm hoping Silver sticks to the intent of the law, rather than the letter of the law and doesn't suspend George. Playoff series should not be swung by a guy taking two steps from the bench.
I agree completely, but the rule has been around long enough now where players should know better than to take so much as one step on the court. If George finds himself suspended, I wouldn't blame the NBA. However stupid the rule may be, he knew it and should have kept his *** planted on the bench. Exactly. If the league doesn't define exactly what the "immediate vicinity" of the bench is, then the players should know or be coached up to know that they better err on the side of caution and stay put.
I think it's just natural for the players to react in a situation like that. If you take a step or two and catch yourself, I think that's about the most you can ask for. It's just bad luck in situations like that to be on the bench on the end where the altercation takes place.
Tell any Suns fan that. Sometimes logic doesn't play a factor in these things. I hope they aren't suspended but the NBA has drawn a pretty hard line on this issue in the past.
