I'm not a big NBA fan, but this first round has been pretty exciting. When was the last time 3 Game 7s happened in the first round and on the same night?

Never been 3 game 7s on one day before.

I still love the "joke" idea that Houston (as the loser of the Portland/Houston series) should get to play Miami in the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs, as neither Toronto nor Brooklyn are worthy of second round play.

And if the Indiana/Atlanta game holds up, I'm going to miss the irony of using the Reggie Miller "choke" gif against the Pacers.

I can't believe how wide open Lillard came on that last play. I've watched that replay a few times now and the Blazers didn't do anything special to free up Lillard. It looks like Parsons just took a terrible angle trying to get through the screen set by Mathews.

Three Game 7 matchups on tap for today - Hawks at Pacers, Grizzlies at Thunder, and Warriors at the Clips. I'll take the home teams, but I have zero confidence in the Pacers pick. Lance could put up a triple double, Korver could hit ten three pointers, Teague could score 40, George could hit for fifty - everything's in play with this goofy-*** series. The only thing I'm sure of is that Roy Hibbert will play fewer than fifteen minutes this game. Vogel's got no choice now that he decided to go with a small lineup, and even if the Pacers advance to the second round I'm not sure how he handles Hibbert. It's not just a matchup problem; the big guy is mired in some kind of funk. He's a complete liability on both ends of the court.

Jesus, I give up trying to figure this team out. Of course Roy Hibbert goes 13/7/5 in 31 minutes, because what about the Pacers in the last three months has made a lick of sense?

4 for 6 so far. Clippers and Thunder should be a great series. Think Pacers bounce back and beat the Wizards in 6 though the Wizards have been impressive recently and Wall will cause the Pacers problems.

This is gonna be fun. Lots of good basketball to be played in the West, and a couple sneaky good matchups in the East. For the first round, I got:

IND over ATL in five
MIA over CHA in six (MIA still in cruise control until the second round)
BKN over TOR in six
CHI over WAS in six
SAS over DAL in five
OKC over MEM in six
LAC over GS in seven (this is going to be a wildly entertaining series)
HOU over POR in six

4 for 6 so far. Clippers and Thunder should be a great series. Think Pacers bounce back and beat the Wizards in 6 though the Wizards have been impressive recently and Wall will cause the Pacers problems.

4 of 6 for me too. Way off on the games necessary, though. LAC and OKC should be a very good series. I'll bet Kevin Durant is thrilled to not have to see Tony Allen again this season. Matt Barnes is every bit as big a pain in the *** and he might bother KD a little with his long arms and tenacity, but Barnes isn't as strong or physical as Allen.

Mark Jackson is likely done. I think if Bogut were healthy, the warriors win this series and he keeps his job.

I don't know. If he is fired, it is likely an issue separate from his on the court coaching performance. Rumors have been circulating that the front office doesn't like him/they don't get along for whatever reason. He as a coach has improved the team's record every year, and this year they lost in a close series to a really good Clippers team. So if he is gone, I don't think it is because of his ability to coach, and therefore having Bogut and winning may not have helped.

That technical on Garnett was pretty weak. Lowry initiated the contact as much as KG. Either just separate the two and call nothing or give the double tech in that situation.

My take as well. Wonder where he'll land. He'll be a hot ticket because of the way he turned around GS.
