*** Official #12 IOWA STATE vs #18 Baylor Game(Day) Thread ***

Well, it will be extremely tough for the team to put this one behind them and be ready for Tuesday night. But, they have shown a toughness this year that I think they will show up at Texas. Guess we'll see.

Baylor AD spoke at the press conference, said they are the best basketball program in the country and deserves better than that. Says the Big 12 should be embarrassed by the refs.
I don't necessarily mind the loss except it was Baylor. If you know it's a "T" to leave the coaching box, how can you complain about getting a "T" for leaving the coaching box?

Could go the other way. This really bothers the team and they come out with extra fire and smoke to work out the frustration. Texas is the recipient of that pent up frustration.

One of those weird games where the refs actually helped us and we still lost.

Let’s cheer hard at home and we’ll be fine.

The "bigs" still have a lot to be desired. They either play real well or disappear. Little to no middle ground with them. BRE brings energy but overall against the top end of the conference he is more of a liability then a help. Sad there isn't anyone else to take some of those minutes. Free throws is one thing but him and King were straight up bad.

When was the last time it felt like the team overall was solid from the free throw line.... has to be a few years.

Back in the day when I farmed for a living we weren't in a financial position to have all the newest equipment with the latest technology. In jest, I told my friends that I wanted to write a book called "Farming with junk.' After reading this game thread (and others, especially after losses) I thought I would write a book featuring all the advice available from the posters that would eliminate the chances for a team losing. Haven't come up with a name yet and don't know if sales would exceed Fran's "Building a Championship Defense"

Gilbert played his ass off tonight, but Im still giving that game back to the refs, they brought us back. This is what it feels like to be a Texas football fan.

Lack of making free throws and shooting early in the game costs us the win. Love the fact we came back to have a shot at winning it in the end. But we cannot continue to shoot from distance as poorly as we have for many games and keep winning. Shooting 19 of 32 from the line for 59% is just not good enough, nor is 5 of 14 from 3-point line. in sports like in life, little things mean a lot, do enough of the little things they add up to big things. ISU just did not do enough of those tonight.

Grew up on a farm with farming with junk, back in the 70s and early 80s. Were some good times, kind of. Similar time frame I think.
