I'm fine with that as well. Just not sure we'll be able to do it again next year with an offense as bad as ours was this season. It's a LOT to ask of a defense.... especially one in the Big 12. That's all.
We have great weapons on offense and should be a lot better IMO.
What makes you happy clonedude? I'm just curious if there's anything because I don't know if I've ever read a single positive post from you ever on this site. We will never know because this cancelled game schedule a makeup at the end of the year then have that game cancelled and then reschedule the he makeup will NEVER happen again. Most messed up thing ever.
I still kinda gravitate to the 8-4 thing and the ranked thing and the 6 conference wins first time ever thing and the winning 7 of 8 thing before I feel outraged over play calling thing.
If we were in the playoffs Clonedude would be ranting about how we better find a OC and offensive line coach before we play Alabama or we'll get blown out and how we should have lost the (Insert close game opponent) game but we pulled it out on luck.
CMC proved during the winning drive we could do that all day long but he's still trying to establish an identity for this offense and running it into an eight man front must be part of that process.

CMC is the best coach we've had since Bruce. If you guys run him out of town for winning ugly I will come and find you and... well I don't know what, but I'll think of something.
I believe we need a OC next year and there should be plenty of qualified candidates thinking they could be Campbell’s successor if he left. Meyers should be given another year on Oline with the recruits we have brought in recently he should be able to show improvement and if not then we need to reevaluate. As for ST I have no defense for their play.
I thought we had a 1000 yard rusher, a record setting receiver, and the best freshman QB in school history. But I guess we need an offensive coordinator. If you know anything about Iowa State football, that always works out.

At least he (Joe Rivera) corralled it and actually had a decent punt (considering the poor conditions). Plus, he punted one for about 47 yards prior to that kick. Our 1st teamer bobbled the snap and probably set the tone for the day. Maybe, just maybe, had he gotten off a good punt, Drake doesn't gain ANY momentum or confidence by scoring an easy TD & perhaps that changes the whole complexion of the game. Not trying to argue with you, just pointing out that our starting punter has been below average the entire season & do you really trust him to make the kick that close to the endzone. Joe played in some really crappy weather in HS (he's a former student of mine) and has really great hands & was money in punting in those conditions. There's a reason he is the holder on field goals. I don't disagree with the coaching decision to put him in that situation.
If you stay the same, you fall behind. Our opposition will improve next year and we need to do the same. Half the teams we beat fired their coaches. Status Quo is what happened to McCarney and Rhoades after their bowl games. They stopped improving and they lost their jobs. Yes I am happy for our record, but it won’t last without continuous improvement.
