While great, this is more about perception than anything. More important than any specific number is the fact that we climbed a mountain, years in the making, to gain enough credibility to be "ranked".

I don't care what the number is, the fact that we've overcome years of (sucking, McDermott, etc.) and gained enough credibility to be "ranked" speaks volumes about how far this program has come.

How do they rank a 15-8 (ND) several spots ahead of a 17-6 team (ISU)? :wideeyed:

Come out of nowhere in Big East play and won. Big East considered toughest basketball conference.

Big 12 this year seems to be pretty top heavy. 3 teams in top 10 but after that no one ranked(currently). I'd say out middle tier of ISU, KSU, and Texas is good. Below that not great. Big East has great top teams, deep middle tier.

This is an easy mistake. Seeing us as the next from the bottom makes it easy to assume that we're 24th instead of 25th. Did that myself last night.

I used to be a CBS poll organizer until I took an arrow to the knee.
