Non Conference schedule so far

If we for sure play on Dec 1st and 9th, there is no way we have 2 games in between those dates. My guess is there will be a game on Dec 28th or 29th. Looking back at the last 10 years, the Iowa/ISU game in Iowa City has always been on a weekend, so there's another factor potentially. However, I cant se us playing 3 games in a row away from Hilton, so my money is the Iowa Game will be on Dec 5.

I'm surprised there is a game on December 9th the Sunday before finals. Usually the Iowa game is always the last game before finals start.

We have 10 out of 12-13 games filled so far.

So the schedule will look something like this:

Nov 3-Exhibitition
Nov 10-Empty
Nov 13-Empty
Nov 18-Campbell-home
Nov 20-North Carolina A&T-home
Nov 23-Cincy-@ Vegas
Nov 24-UNLV/Oregon-@ Vegas
Dec 1-BYU-home
Dec 7-@ Iowa
Dec 9-Nebraska-Omaha-home
Dec 15-Drake-@ WF Arena
Dec 19-@ UMKC
Dec 29-Empty
Jan 1-Yale-home

*Bold means for sure opponent and/or for sure date.

I'm guessing conference play will start on January 5th.

The more i think about it the more I agree that we will have a game on Dec 29th instead of Dec 4th. So i changed it.

I'm guessing conference play will start on Saturday January 5th.

Update with days.

I wouldn't mind getting a school from a power conference in that Dec 29 game. Doing a home and home with Wisconsin or Marquette would be a great idea.

Wow thats a nice schedule.

BYU, Cinci, UNLV/Oregon, Iowa, Drake. So far not looking bad.

Just hope we dont pull an Iowa against the soup.

Playing UMKC, well, not only playing them, but playing AT UMKC is a head-scratcher for me, even if it is intended as a gift to area alumni. If we lay an egg and lose that game it could be a "bubble buster" type of loss.

I would much rather have UNI on our schedule for this season then play UMKC.

Yeah too bad they didn't schedule Yale for the 29th and then a power conference team on the 1st so that when we start conference play on the 5th it's not a huge change of pace going from non conference to conference play.

My guess is that was a 2 for 1 deal, and they will be coming to Hilton in 2013 and 2014. If not, I agree, its a head scratcher.

I don't understand why we don't play the team that we don't play in the big 4 as a home/home series every other year.

ie) Drake @ WF this year...UNI @ ISU, then UNI @ WF...ISU @ Drake the following year. Then Drake @ WF...ISU @ UNI. Then UNI @ WF...Drake @ ISU. You could still have the event and still play all teams. Its just stupid.

It would devalue the event by taking away the exclusive allure of the thing.

Not too much. Iowa State and Iowa keep losing to these teams that's why the neutral location against one of the teams is taking place. We get no benefit of beating them but get it counted as a bad loss on our resume if we lose.
