Nick Babb

I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume Fred and Co. are keeping tabs on Nick and will offer/go after if deemed necessary.

I wouldn't say you're going out on a limb with that statement. The staff is after some really good talent in the 2014 class. I'd agree with you when you say they'll keep a tab on Nick Babb. No offense to Nick but the staff is aiming higher right now.

I hope the posters that can look at a high school kid and assign him a "role player" label in college are making a living coaching or scouting BB players.

Babb is starting to get noticed. Bossi lists him as one of the 15 non-ranked prospects have made us take notice. He has a good chance to crack the top 150 before the summer is over.

The younger brother of former Iowa State shooting guard Chris Babb, the 6-foot-4 wing looks like a high major himself. He's had a big spring with Texas Select and his ability to score from the wing and slide over to play spot minutes as a big point guard is very intriguing.

In March, we visiting Babb's BBQ in Dallas. Got to meet Babb's dad. Solid guy. Looks like he could still play power forward. Gotta think he appreciates what Chris was able to do in Ames and would like to have Nick go the same route.

Maybe daddy wants him to stay closer to home and help TCU build their program.

Maybe Nick has a mind of his own regardless of what Chris and Dad think.
