If gray did have to be used, this would be preferable to any partial-gray, at least.
Well CYCLNST8, I beat you to it, this is my avatar for a while, sorry. You actually inspired me to make this, w/ the retro pics and stripes, thank you! I never thought I would like y/r/r, but this looks fantastic, IMO! If you don't like this color combination, there are many others, in this design.
If you guys like these recent uniform prototypes, for 2017 or later, I urge you to e-mail Mr. Pollard (maybe even CMC), and briefly let him/them know, w/ attached pics, be brief and polite. [If you do not know their e-mail address, PM me and I'll give them to you, or look it up on the Athletics web site.] They do not frequent CF. I am not doing this for fun, but because I want our team and university to succeed, and w/ sharp looking uniforms. Trust me, I have been around long enough to have seen some less than good uniforms for our football team.
I would imagine that CMC already has uniforms picked out for 2017, , and that's fine, but these look pretty darn good. It wouldn't hurt to let them know, if you agree. Thank you!

I'm in favor of gray because gray=storm. With all of the "A Storm is Brewing" marketing going on, I would have to imagine the staff wants something that might resemble a storm in a uniform for an alternate. The mock ups didn't look nearly as sharp as I had imagined them, so maybe it's not even a possibility. Thanks for doing them tnoah.
I'm just opposed to any school doing this non-school color stuff.
We're cardinal and gold. White is a neutral accent that everybody uses.
Black is unacceptable to us because of the University of Iowa, to say the least.
Gray isn't a neutral accent. Cardinal/gold/white is gorgeous, and nobody else in the country uses it (USC does not integrate the white). I humbly suggest that we use it.

Avatar of the year winner? Was there actually a vote on that? I mean, yeah you would win hands down, but was there really a vote? And if so, why wasn't I notified? Sink you fool!!!
I wouldn't be opposed to an all gray uniform as an alternate that we wear like once a year or once every two years..... at most. But only only if we wear all gray... helmet, jersey, and pants.
However, can we please just add a yellow helmet and white accents to our uniform BEFORE we go to any sort of gray whatsoever. It only makes sense to add a yellow helmet to the mix, and I think some white in our uniforms would really add a lot to the look. I hate to bring up Iowa, but their home uniforms look MUCH better with the white numbers versus if they only had black and yellow only.
Finally, I'm going to go back to the short term again...... THIS SEASON. Is there any chance we'll see a gold chrome facemask with our cardinal helmet this year instead of the gray facemask? I hope so. How about a stripe down the middle of the cardinal helmet? I absolutely love the red chrome facemask on the new white helmet, and think it would also look sweet on a yellow helmet as well. So can we get a gold chrome facemask for the cardinal helmet for THIS year?

I agree that the y/w/y or y/w/w Away is a great combo. I hope we get the yellow/gold helmet! It only makes sense, gives us more combos (if they want). Here you go...
It definitely makes a huge difference that they have black in their uniforms. Gray and yellow look awful together, and if we wear gray with cardinal it makes us look like Ohio State or Georgia or something. It's just not us IMO. White is a great accent color, gray not so much.
I will say, however, I kinda liked when the WBB team wore all gray uniforms. That's why I think all gray might look ok, but please don't mix it with red or yellow.
And as I said, let's get a gold chrome facemask for this season to go with our cardinal helmet.
