Would like to see a good color picture of the 59 - 65 uniforms, but probably none available.

Kagavi bat signal activated ... Here's ISU's away uniforms in 1961 at Boston College. You can get an idea of both the true gold and cardinal used. (From my 2013 story.)

I like these pant stripes. I spent time working on them and which combination would work best for all the possible jersey, pant, helmet combos, at least a little white in each, see gray. The helmet stripes would be the same as the pant stripes, in each color. Simple, clean. I'll try to illustrate more color combos later, when I get some time, using this pattern.

These are perfection.

I like that Gold/Cardinal/Gold combo, especially with the subtle addition of white. Jersey looks so much better without the shoulder stripes.

I'm not a fan of ND, but those are sick IMO. I thought schools like ND didn't need alternate uniforms because they have such a classic brand? NOT. That is BS. We need to experiment so much more with our uniforms, and luckily Campbell seems to know it.

ND it is more of a risk. They are throwing away a lot of tradition with wild uniforms. For Iowa State, it is a no brainer.

They do this for 1 game per year ("Shamrock Series"), and all of the other games are from their standard combinations.

Actually, I would posit Notre Dame has a long history of alternate uniforms, used both to gain an edge on the field, as well as a motivational ploy. It was during the 1921 game against Iowa that the Irish used their green jerseys for the first time. Thus, if ND wasn't doing something like the Shamrock Series as a special game, it would actually be contrary to their history.
