NEW Star Wars Teaser!!!!

I'm a grown man with lots of machismo and stuff, that said I think I got a little pee in my pants while I screamed like a school girl at the trailer.

It's pretty easy to avoid if you don't want any info. Why are you even posting in the thread if it makes you grumpy? Isn't about time for blue plate specials? :jimlad:

So it was mostly tongue-in-cheek, as you figured out. I still geek out over trailers. I just don't want to get all of these spoilers ahead of time, possible plot lines, and all that.

But damn, that trailer has got me pumped. Star Wars is great because of many things, but one of the greatest things is that John Williams got. it. right. The series score is 100% perfect. JJ Abrams gets that. Those scenes are cool and all, but without the undercurrent of the themes in that trailer, it's not Star Wars. And the mashup of Leia's Theme, the Main Title, the two new themes introduced at the beginning... WOW.

I was six when I saw Star Wars in the theater. I loved it, but when Empire came out a few years later I was finally old enough to get it and have it stay with me. Return of the Jedi was the icing on the cake. I was grown up when the new movies came out, and disappointed. But maybe it's because I was 25 and was no longer that little kid, captive in the dark with those x-wings and tie-fighters, blasters and lightsabers.

I think for a couple of hours this December, JJ Abrams is going to let me be six years old again and I cannot wait.

I've already watched it 3 times

"I will only watch it three more times . . . today."

The trailer reminded me of the Dark Knight Returns trailer. Seems to have the same style. Doesn't look at as hokey as I & II. Encouraging.

Khaal53 is stating on twitter he hasnt watched a Star Wars movie all the way through since he was 8. As if that's something to be proud of. WTF. I heard he hates puppies.too.

How much revenue will this film generate, I think it will blow past what the Avenger movies did amongst others.

Amazing how a movie that started with the middle portion of its 9 part series 35+ years ago has such a strong following today

I am hyped, only wish my son was a little older so we could experience it together. But 3 is a little young for Star Wars. But maybe by the next one.

Thats Kylo right? This character would be too young to be Luke. Luke is a hermit now with R2 and completely separate from what I can tell.

It sounds like The Force has been all but forgotten. Luke went off into seclusion for fear that he could be corrupted by the dark side. However, I think he comes back when Kylo Ren surfaces as a new Sith Lord.

I'm guessing that Luke will mentor John Boyega's character Finn. I get the sinking suspicion that he will die and be part of the remaining series as a force ghost.

Luke is the cloaked figure with the bionic hand who reaches out to R2. They aren't showing him in full for a reason. We'll see what that is.

My theories based off watching the trailer:

-For the longest time I thought Rey was going to be Han and Leia's daughter. After watching the trailer I don't think so anymore. Based off the conversation she is having with Han, and the fact it looks like she is a junker on some remote planet (possibly Tatooine), that just doesn't seem right to me.

-Finn is a stormtooper gone awol. From the earlier teasers I thought he was just infiltrating something in disguise, but it looks like his backstory is that of an empire soldier who turns.

-I think the big reveal now is that Kylo Ren is Han and Leia's son. They have to have a child involved somehow, and if it isn't Rey then it has to be Kylo. It makes sense to me. Luke trains his nephew in the force. Kylo becomes obsessed with grandpa and how powerful he was and turns. Luke goes in to hiding just like Obi Wan.

I still got nothing for the conspicuous absence of Luke from everything. I agree with everyone else that is Luke with the mechanical hand touching R2. But I'm not sure why they aren't showing him on screen or in posters. I know some have the theory that Kylo is Luke, but they have all ready announced an actor for Kylo. That seems to strongly suggest that is not Mark Hamill behind that mask. Plus the images they show of Kylo walking around don't look like an aging Mark Hamill. I know, they could just be using a body double and say it is Luke. I'm just not buying it I guess.

I could be way off base. I have purposefully been avoiding most of the rumors and information out there. I just think it is fun to let the imagination run wild after watching the trailer.

I think both Kylo and Rey are Han and Leia's kids. Twins once again, but on two different sides.
