Has anyone ever heard of a man named J.J. Moses?

5'6" - Showed up in Ames at just a shade over 160 IIRC??

I for one would love to see another JJ in Cardinal and Gold!

Welcome Jeremy! Please ignore the experts, we are glad to have you!

I could care less about his height if he can cover somebody and make a play.

Atif Austin and Ellis Hobbs were short and they are two of the better corners we have ever had. Leonard Johnson is short as well and he looks like he will be one of our best ever as well before he is done.

Yeah, and I am pretty certain Moses wasn't even that tall.

It was always funny to see Atif and Breon with the Gymnastics girls because they were all the same height. Atif was solid but both of them were abused by taller receivers....

I always thought Atif was a step slow. Breon, on the other hand, I thought could have been an NFL corner had he been, say, 6-0. Just, both of them were aken advantage of.

However, Jeremy looks more athletic than either. and I don't know how much time he'll spend playing corner. We'll see.

jeremy welcome to the big 12 and cyclone country- i see you a sa wide receiver and as a punt returner.
you might make an athletic corner, but i must say you may have trouble with a 6-6 wide receiver.
will be looking forward to see you on our track squad with your nice broad jump. maybe thats how we will remember you at iowa state. i imagine aclone has all of the cyclone fanatic border patrol police writing him nice letters now. we have a few of those who like to pick on our cyclone fanatic faithfuls. cheers!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the Cyclone Family, Jeremy!

Please disregard the few "experts" on this site that have the magic ability to measure your heart, effort, leadership, and football skills by watching a couple video clips on a recruiting site.

It's great to receive your commitment. Please know that (most of) us fans are also just as committed.

Go Cyclones!

Since I'm the only so called "expert" being continuously objected to, I haven't seen a single video yet. Talk about taking my comments out of context.

My only (and obvious) question was in reference to a straightforward, unequivocal 5-7 150 listed size. And that only because of a number of undersized commits lately.

Duh. :skeptical:

Woah, woah.... Hey, Aclone.... Don't take my post personally. It was not directed at you, particularly.

You and I both like to talk X's and O's on this site, and typically we are in agreement. I enjoy bouncing ideas and opinions off of you, as we share (what I believe to be) a realistic viewpoint regarding ISU football. You are, as you say, usually NOT one of the "Doom and Gloom" folks around here, and I appreciate that.

My comment was intended to be more general. This is the top free ISU fan board on the interwebs, which makes it a prime target for potential and committed recruits to visit. My hope is just that, along with our opinions of the Heights and Weights of these young men, we also remember to extend them a welcome. They have committed the next 4-5 years of their life to ISU, which is often far from home, so a little support is all I ask (from EVERYONE, not Aclone particularly).

So, anyway... no hard feelings here, Aclone. I look forward to chatting with you on this board in the future.

I wonder how tall his parents and siblings are. I'm sure the staff likes him now, but if he could grow a couple inches he might be VERY good.

Pretty nice return for him...reminds me of Hester

Hmm well we are 2-6.... I am glad to have ANYONE that wants to be a Cyclone!

Ok not anyone, they can go steal stuff in IC, but when we find a kid that buys into what we are trying to accomplish here thats awesome! and we should accept them as our own no matter what their physical dimensions.

FWIW we recruited the small rb at Oregon State that tore USC apart this year but passed on him cuz we thought he was to small...

Hmm. I suppose I could go back and edit my post. However, knee jerk reaction that it is, it's still my honest opinion. Not that he's actually a midget (that's laughable), but that the staff has commitments from a surprising number of undersized players lately.

So, the question becomes abridging my personal integrity (whether I look stupid or not), versus risking hurting the feelings of a kid who already knows good and how athletic he is, by some random, faceless moron on a message board.

Yeah, I betcha his feelings would be hurt. For about a half a second. Maybe.

Jeremy, if you read this, I hope you're a better man than that. Than I am, for that matter. And it certainly wasn't a criticism of you, but wondering just exactly what the staff is up to.

Best wishes, and I'm really loking forward to seeing what you can do!

Im glad you took my advice:biggrin:

I think you have them confused. Atif was a 3 year starter and Ansley was a nickel/dime back who may have started a few games. Austin was the better player, he played more on better defenses, had more ints, etc.

In case anyone missed Coach Chizik's recruiting philosophy:

We may not always be big, but we are always going to be fast.

For that matter, LSU's Tristan Paul, at 5-5, is a midget, too, by those same standards. Is that somehow supposed to be "offensive"? :skeptical:

ACLONE, not going to get into the mud slingin, not sure you meant Tristan Paul, for LSU, but i do know that Trindon Holliday for LSU is 5'-5" and i think anyone that calls themselves a Cyclone fan would cherish having someone back there fielding punts when the player has that much raw speed and ability - not sure that Jeremy has that yet, but if he does, he will be an immediate starter and we could use a weapon that can help change the field position game. That is if the other team has to punt....

ESPN - Trindon Holliday Stats, News, Photos - LSU Tigers - NCAA College Football

Holliday is electric every time he touches the ball, and LSU (were talking national championships) can recruit an undersized player and design ways to get the ball into his hands, i hope we use him in a similar fashion. As you said, he may not even play corner. What about a slot Wes Welker????

Jeremy, glad to have you on board, and as others have said, i pray that your going to be back there fielding kicks and showing off that athletic ability!!!!!:notworthy:

I don't know how many more punt returns for 3 yards i can handle!!!!

Welcome aboard Jeremy. I think this kid could make a big impact on our football team. 1. He is an extremely good three sport athlete Football, Basketball, and Track 2. Known for speed 3. Solid cover corner skills 4. High school coach says he is the most EXPLOSIVE athlete he has EVER coached! I am excited about the recruiting class the coaches are putting together and if you have any doubts about the coaches evaluation ability just look at last years class.
