I hope for people who don’t follow this sport the way we do get a chance to learn how complex and different it is to be a wrestler. Just the fact that Buf said that surgeries are scheduled. It’s insane. Canceling wrestling is such a different beast physically for these guys.
Arizona State has joined some IVY league schools in cancelling their athletic events and competitions. Believe that means they will not have wrestlers at NCAAs. Look for other schools to follow suit soon
I'd guess the chances of getting the coronavirus is much greater than the chances the NCAA wrestling tournament will continue. Dominoes are falling all around and I see zero chance it takes place.
Or he might be crying due to the fact that David Carr got denied the chance to be a 4x National Champion
Officially official. Only thing we can assume now is that we would've had 3 champs, 9 AAs, and beat Iowa for the title
Bummer deal......I attend the Nationals with a group of friends most years and its always something I really look forward too. The NCAA was forced into this corner, and realistically had no choice but to cancel once the ball of hysteria got rolling. I'm going to assume that in my Small Town, IA of 700 people I have no idea what the impact of this Pandemic is and will be. Irregardless, I'm disappointed for all the athletes that had so much invested in it.
It especially sucks for guys like Spencer Lee, who probably loses out on the opportunity to be a 4xer all because he chose not to take an Olympic RS. Obviously any seniors that qualified as well, especially if it was their only time.
The NCAA is gonna have a nightmare on their hands figuring out how to handle eligibility. Knowing them, they will make the worst decision possible.
EDIT: To clarify, I fully understand they really had no choice in the matter after everything else that was cancelled, and dont blame them. But it still sucks.

If they do eligibility adjustments, it should only involve NCAA qualifiers.
Any announcement? If they can cancel the billion dollar event known as March Madness, hard to believe this will go on.
Yep it is cancelled.
Worse yet, the D3 National championships just got cancelled and that starts tomorrow and the wrestlers are in Cedar Rapids already!
