NCAA TOURNEY

Nothing earth shattering to add just want to piss and moan about how much this sucks. Shutting everything down was the right decision because there are things in life bigger than sports but it just really sucks the decision had to be made. NCAAs and the first couple rounds of March Madness are about as close as I get to feeling the same level of excitement I felt about Christmas as a kid. Can't even imagine how bad this feels for the athletes. Life goes on and what not but this is a big bummer.

So Spring sports are going to get an extra year, but their season is just starting.

I think opinions are driven by team benefits.
If senior qualifiers get a year back, it only affects Straw for us.
For UNI, it affect Lujan, Thomsen, Schwarm and Steiert (huge for them)
For Iowa, it would be Lugo, (with Eierman coming in probably not big or forces Murin out)

I have read the opinion of anybody that hasn't used a redshirt, to be able to use it.
That would give Iowa Lee and Assad another year.
No help to us or UNI.
I think Northern Colorado wrestled some true freshman. Alirez, Schwartz?
Mark Hall would get another year, right?

I think since we wrestled everything but Nationals, I have a hard time seeing NCAA committee giving anytime back.

I'm in the camp of the NCAA not giving anything back

Granting an extra year to select student-athletes opens a giant can of worms.

Does everyone get an extra year?
Do only NCAA qualifiers in individual sports (WR, T&F) get an extra year?
What about team sports (MBB, WBB)?
What about teams that were already eliminated from their postseason?
What about teams that might have made a postseason tournament?
How will recruiting, scholarship limits, and roster limits be affected?
How will Olympic sport budgets be affected?
How will the AD's budget be affected, given that NCAA MBB money isn't going to come in at its normal amount?
Or...does nobody get an extra year?

And now with the Olympics moving back to 2021, is there the chance of granting additional Olympic RS years, including guys that already took them this season?

I wonder if there was this much consternation back in 1943, when they wrestled a regular season but no conference or NCAA tournaments.
