NCAA Seeding

San Diego St. beats Nevada. Quad 3 loss for Nevada. Nevada was a 6 seed in most brackets. I'm guessing Iowa St. and Nevada will flip flop for most people.

San Diego St. also gives ISU a small bump since ISU beat them in Maui

I think we’re a 6 for sure, with a good chance at 5 with a win tomorrow
I think we're capped out as a 6 seed but need to look more in detail.

According to bracketMatrix:

5 seeds:
Virginia Tech - lost to Florida St. in quarters
Marquette - loses to Seton Hall, could drop
Miss St. - lost to Tennessee, maybe could pass
Auburn - beat S. Carolina (not much help), plays Florida tomorrow

6 seeds:
Villanova- barely beat Xavier, plays Marquette/Seton Hall
Nevada - Q3 loss against San Diego St., they'll drop a seed I think
Maryland - lost to Nebraska, could drop further
Buffalo - in title game tomorrow

7 seeds:
Iowa St. - Q1 win tonight, another chance for a Q1 win tomorrow
Cincy - beat a bad SMU team. chance for Q2 win tomorrow
Wofford - won title, not much chance to move up
Louisville - lost to UNC, not much chance to move up

Need to win tomorrow plus Villanova and Buffalo to lose will give them a chance at a 5. I'm thinking a 6 is more likely.

Only way I see ISU staying as a 7 is if they lose tomorrow and Cincy wins the American, getting a win over Houston. Need to pass one of the 5 seeds besides Va. Tech.

I’m calling it now: 6 at worst

Are they really looking at Washington as the Pac XII champ a 10 seed? Crazy and I wouldn't want that matchup.

marquette loses as well. There's your path to a 5 seed.

We could be anywhere from a 5 to a 7 no matter what happens tomorrow. We should be a 5 with a win, but I've seen enough brackets to know that the Committee often has to move teams up or down 1-2 lines in order to avoid early round matchups against conference teams.

Seems like the bubble has been horrific since they went to 68 teams. I wish they would go back to 64. Will not happen, but wish it would.

I wish they'd take the eight teams "on" the bubble... a "cloud" of the four above and the four below... at the end of the season... pair them up, fly them to Dayton, and have them play as "one more data" point, and send the winners onto a 737 waiting for them for First Round match-ups on Thursday and Friday and send the four losers home.

Or to the NIT as #1 seeds. Who cares at that point.

I might actually watch a First Four organized more consistently like that.

The lack of commitment between just having #17 seeds and/or four play-in games like that has always bugged me. I hope they fix it somehow, someday.

I think there is a chance they get a 5 bc of road wins and Q1 wins. They are a 6 on NET but a five in other metrics.
