Another interesting thought...depending on how much the schools themselves were involved as opposed to coaches, could the school ADs end up losing their 501(c)(3) status? I believe that illegal activity is grounds for losing non-profit status.

That seems extreme. I think you could separate the people involved from the school itself, regardless of the number of people involved.

One area that Kentucky fans need to worry about is the FBI raiding ASM. They have a number of Kentucky clients. Wouldn't surprise me if they get caught up in the whole agent side of this investigation.

And I believe a couple guys that were Louisville guys. Couple of Frank Martin guys. Couple of Duke guys.
I don't know if anyone else say this but about a month or so ago. Rich Paul, famously Lebron James agent and friend, met with Camron Reddish a Duke commit but supposedly no business was talked about. If you look into things more, Lebron James has basically been give a free pass to Kentucky basketball facilities. Guess who Rich Paul has been signing.. yep former Kentucky players. Eric Bledsoe, John Wall, Demarcus Cousins. I wouldn't be surprised to find that Kentucky players are getting paid by agents. Their whole program is marketed as a feeder program for the NBA and they have have a pro-day.

Well if you pay them you can allow them to get sponsors and they will be make all that money just the same.

But the problem with that is parity will go away as the programs with the most money will be able to buy the best players. If you only allow a certain "salary cap", then this sort of thing that was happening will happen again. If you allow for addidas to pay players, they will funnel to the schools who wear their stuff. It will be ass backwards.

No good answer in basketball I don't think.

And in FB, the small parity there is now will all but disappear. At least in basketball a few guys can make a difference.

I was always under the impression Steph was super selfish, which he probably was on court.
Then heard a freakanomics about the Starbury shoe and he basically did it to give poor kids a way to buy a shoe that an NBA player wore, because he couldn't afford the best shoes when he was little. Made me appreciate him way more.
