I doubt the fact that he got injured against a certain team would affect whether he signs with that team.

it would if he thought that the player did something intentionally dirty (he does) and that player remains on the team (he does).
Of course they could trade Olynik, so it's not like it would be a total no-go. But add everything else up and it seems like an odd fit.
Kevin said he & Kelly are "on good terms" so I don't think it's really a big deal. I still agree that Boston would be surprising though.

So Love and Lebron are opt out but resigning for more money. Where are the Cavs going to get money for TT and other FA's? Gilbert must be fine with paying a big luxury tax.
Teams can exceed the salary cap to resign their own players and the Cavs are going to either break, or come damn close, the record for largest payroll ever, they are going to be paying huge tax penalties. This is going to make it very difficult to add anyone new of value though. We already saw the Cavs having to trade their first round pick to the T'Wolves, and Tyus Jones would have had some value as a backup to Irving, for second round picks to save money.
Maybe he's ok with the amount of money he has made, and wants to get off that trainwreck of a team.

And on the Cavs, they are the same. They can resign everyone and trade haywood for a contract between 7 and 13 million. They can only sign a FA worth $3 million. Kevin Love, JR Smith, TT,or Shumpert leaving don't give them any extra cap space unless most of them leave because they're so far over the cap.

Depends who they play in the playoffs. Losing Splitter will be big in certain series since Duncan can't play that many minutes any more.
I actually think he'd have been a better fit with Houston but I certainly understand why he'd want to go play for San Antonio.
Outside of Memphis there aren't many teams that can force them to defend two big guys. Maybe Houston, but Aldridge just destroyed them last year in the playoffs so they can go small a lot with Kwahi at the four and still be OK.
Aldridge didn't defend Howard when they played though so not sure how that would work but yes those were the two teams I was thinking of.
It would help them against pretty much everyone else if Duncan's defense doesn't fall apart having to play center full time for a full season. I don't think it will but who knows how long he has left.
Yeah, that's the big question. I've still got the 18/10 guy who played heavy minutes against the Clippers in mind, he has to fall off at some point though, right? They've been bringing Aron Baynes along for a few years now and without Splitter I imagine he would get a lot of regular season minutes just to save Duncan from getting banged on down low. Parker somewhat fell off last year and losing Green would be a major loss as well if they can't resign him.
Worth every penny. In a year or two he could be the best player in the league, Lebron and KD included.
Yep, and the Spurs lock up Kawhi for a max deal, another deal that is absolutely worth it. Miami keeps Dragic and the Bulls keep Dunleavy as well.
