I like Bosh, Horford, and Aldridge better without doubt. Then there's this Duncan guy playing in San Antonio that you might have heard of. Obviously I wouldn't trade Cousins for him but if you're asking me who for next year would i rather have, it'd be Duncan.
Aldridge is a PF and if you think Bosh & Horford are both better than Cousins you are out of your mind

I really like Horford, but I agree. He's not better than Cousins.

You could make a strong case for Bosh though. He's a better defender.

You could make a case for those guys. Personally I think that's overrating Horford just a little but whatever. The difference is that none of those other guys save Davis are just now entering the prime of their careers. Cousins is a 25 year old coming off a season where he averaged 24 and 12. With the right head coach and support system, he can be a franchise cornerstone. And as an added bonus, he's already locked in for the next three years. There are teams in the league that could take on him and his personality and build a winning team around him. Just my two cents.

They are rebuilding. Just like every team has to after winning multiple championships. They will be back, they are the Lakers.

They're five seasons removed from their last championship and their record has gotten worse every one of those seasons except one. Are you sure the rebuild is heading in the right direction? :jimlad:

I do agree that they'll be back, eventually. It's only a matter of time before Jeannie Buss forces out her idiot brother and Kobe limps away. Then they can really and truly move on and rebuild. Until then just enjoy the **** show.

Have you looked at their roster and looked at what the roster will look like by next year? Then plus the FA they will add this year? im not saying theyre winning championships in the next 2 years....but 3? Possibly.

Wow David West opted out? That's a real surprising move, the Pacers are probably happy about that.

well yeah these are all opinions, I may end up being proven wrong.

I'd like to know what trades you think would get a team a title with Cousins. Sure, I could buy that Golden State or Cleveland could win a title with him if you just took their current roster (minus the center he's replacing) and added him to it.

But who could make a legitimate offer for him and still have a team capable of challenging for a title? I get why the Lakers and Celtics are after him, they don't have that many quality pieces to begin with so they've got nothing to lose.

Going through the current playoff teams:

Golden State: would you give up Klay, Bogut and a first round pick for him?

New Orleans: they're not trading Davis and they don't have anyone else Sacremento would want

Portland: Aldridge is a FA so the money difference would require a significant sweetener and even if it didn't is Portland really a better team with Cousins rather than Aldridge?

Clippers: Sacremento is going to want more than Deandre and a first rounder, and I don't know what else LA could give up besides Paul or Blake to even make them think about trading Cousins.

Houston: Dwight is better anyway, but Houston couldn't afford to trade Dwight's defense for Cousins' offense given the rest of their roster.

Dallas: clearly would make them much better, but they don't really have anyone Sacramento would want.

Memphis: already has the best center in the league

Atlanta: would trading Horford for Cousins have made Atlanta better given Atlanta's playing style?

Brooklyn: don't see a trade that would make sense given the contracts that most of Brooklyn's team has.

Toronto: Does Lowry, Amir Johnson, and a first round pick get the deal done? If so, does that make them better?

Washington: would probably have to part with either Wall or Beal, along with Gortat. Don't think that makes them better.

Chicago: would have to give up at least Butler and Noah along with either Mirotic or Gibson. Maybe the most intriguing what if as the lineup would basically be Rose, Mirotic/Gibson, Cousins, and two wings. That's basically betting on Rose's health.

Milwaukee: they could probably get a deal done by giving up the #1 pick and Jabari.

Cleveland: does a Love sign and trade work if they include Mosgov? That could be interesting.

Boston: They'd have to give up Smart and all of their valuable Nets picks. Does Isaiah Thomas and Cousins make boston an elite team? It certainly didn't make Sacramento an elite team.

As a bonus since you're a pacers fan, you trading Cousins for Paul George?

Aldridge isn't a center on his team though....Horford isn't really a center but is forced to play there because of Millsap. Bosh is a 4 as Whiteside is the Center on that team...I'd take Cousins easily as of now over Duncan and it's not even close.

I saw the Celtics are going to pursue Kevin Love. According to the CBS article they are going to sell him on playing with Robin Lopez and Paul Pierce. I don't know why he would, but it would be nice for PP to finish his career in Boston. Not sure how excited Love would be about playing in Boston.

Are you a lakers fan or what? The Lakers could be good in 3 years, sure. But as of today i see Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle as the only attractive long term pieces on the roster and they are both unproven at this level. Their pick this year will help, and obviously they will find some players in FA, but as of today you can't tell me that team is on the right path to winnings the finals

They would need to get a superstar in FA, have both Randle and their #2 pick be All Star quality guys, and add a handful of quality veteran role players to get to that point.

From what I've heard Pierce is likely to play with the Clippers next year so that's a bit surprising. I did see something that Cavs are front runner for Love but he's also willing to hear out Lakers & Celtics so there is some interest in Boston from Love.

If I'm PP I'm going to the Clippers. Get to go "home" and compete for a championship. Selfishly I want PP to have another chance at LeBron in the playoffs as a Celtic though.

Trying to understand why the lakers would have interest in D-wade.

The post you responded to said that there are teams that could get him & build a winning team around him. Winning not title, HUGE difference.
