Naz Long

And Travis Ford did not put out the word to foul him? Bad Travis. Shades of ScottD. Speaking of Drew, he appears to be coaching better with his timeouts.

I believe it was Travis Hines that tweeted that Ford told his players to foul if up three on that possession. Kane passed ahead to Naz before he could be fouled, and Naz's crossover to his left gave him separation and allowed him to avoid the foul. It was an incredible play by our team, not necessarily on Ford this time.

All I have to say is that Fred needs to have a set play for the last possession of the first half that gets the ball out of Kane's hands and into Naz's for a shot. As good as Kane has been in games, that last second shot is not his thing.

But rebounding a miss or a loose ball and putting it back is his thing, especially compared to whoever's usually guarding him. Late in the game he was clearly the best post player on the floor crazy as it seems.

Naz has ice in his veins. Obviously, The Shot was amazing. But I also noticed when Matt Thomas went to the line late in OT when we really needed the shots, Matt was looking a little nervous but Naz was right behind him with the biggest most genuine smile on his face. He was taking the heat off of Matt and I really think it worked.

Naz and Hogue might be my favorite players on this team. Not necessarily the most talented or most important, but their mental toughness is critical for this team.

The improvement of Naz from year 1 to year 2 has been impressive. Hopefully next year he gains consistency with his shot. His defense has also come a long way from the start of the year.

This was up there with JVB and the "non-three that was" or the "one time the refs screwed the other team" shot to beat Creighton in Des Moines to bury the hatchet back in McD's back for taking the best year of my life.

Then again, that was a tie game to win it, this was an improbable down three to tie it to overtime...

I loved that shot for two reasons:

1. **** Greg.

2. It was awesome seeing the refs hose the other guy for once.

It's easy to see why Hoiberg likes Naz so much. He seems like a good kid who works really hard. I also saw him say something to Matt when he was shooting those FT's and that big grin.

I had to laugh when watching CW's interview with him. He said something about how Naz was in a bit of a slump for a while there, but seems to have gotten out of it. And Naz answered about how he had no excuses and just went on and on about it. It was pretty cool (and not real necessary) to see him take such responsibility. Can't help but respect a guy like that.

They tired to foul but missed. Ford should have had the players in the lane and foul right after the miss. Long had got going and the OSU players were trying to get back and not in good position to foul.

Great shot by naz!!! if you watch after Thomas gets the rebound he maybe not even on purpose fakes the ball to his right to Georges then gives it to kane on his left and it sorta gets ok sts defense shifting out of position... then a good job by Kane to push it up to naz, then an incredible shot by 3sus.... again...

Georges wanted Kane to have the ball, he told Matt to give it to Kane.

Another thing I liked about the play was Forte synchronize jumping when Naz shot it.
