Michigan State Speculation- Hoiberg

Oh I agree. I look at it from the point of view that Fred could fund raise with the best of them.

I don't know. If he hates recruiting then I'm guessing he wouldn't be a big fan of fundraising either. They're not exactly the same thing but you're still trying to sell people on something.

I think Fred is earning his NBA chops this year. Unless something fluky happens, Chicago isn't letting him go after this season. Even if he is eventually let go, I think he has shown enough that another NBA team would give him a chance.

Very well could happen. To me, he coaches a lot like Mike D' Antoni, and he's got a shot to win a title this year.

Brilliantly played by a relatively new member.

You could be an all star here before your career is done.

The Bulls only chance this season is because they play in the NBA. No way they knock off the Cavs or get by the Warriors for a 'ship.

If the season ended today the Bulls wouldn't even be in the playoffs.
As mentioned, he meant D'antoni, but even with everything settling into place perfectly for him, his team is currently at +470 odds to even make the NBA finals. Point being, I don't see any way Fred is at a point to compete for an NBA title any time soon unless a huge number of things change.

Haven’t read any of this thread so maybe this has been said, but wouldn’t it be kind of odd for him to return to college after basically outright saying he hated recruiting.

I wonder just how interested Fred is in returning as a college coach after being quoted saying he "f'ing hated recruiting." You know other guys will use that against him on the recruiting trail. I think he'll stick with the NBA or move back to the front office before taking another college coaching gig but of course this is all opinion as only Fred really knows what he wants to do. Ideally I'd love to see him be the next AD whenever Jamie retires as I think he'd really thrive in that role with his ties here.

I was hoping the Fred talk would start to die down the longer he's been gone but I guess some here still are obsessed. Prohm is doing a good job and has been bringing in more HS talent than Fred ever was which is how you sustain success by staggering your classes and not just loading up on transfers all the time.

Everyone was shocked when both schools were able to score an 18+
(Think about it)

You guys are missing what's really going on. MSU let Jack walk-on so Fred would take Izzo's job when he becomes part of the sacrficial lambstock in East Lansing. After coaching his oldest son, Fred willl bring him on as a grad assistant. When that runs out, Jack will join Self's staff at KU for a few years, and Fred will be coaching his twins. Fred will bring on whoever his daughter marries as an assistant coach, and will also bring back Jack as his main assistant. Proving he did learn a few things from Bill F. while back in Ames.

Also, if you buy that, i have some therapy pet rocks for sale now that you can't take your therapy peacock on an airline anymore.

What a strange line to say that most of his success was due to his staff at ISU. Recruiting success, maybe. Definitely not on-the-floor success, though.
