Yeah if we could streamline to really know if someone's not contagious vs. their viral load that would make a difference.

Still, pretty sure at most work places, the general rule is if you have a fever, stay home. Someone could have a fever off and on for several days with a low viral load, and as contagious as that is, that disrupts the work place if in fact it does spread.

Also we're not sure if someone has had it, if they get re-infected, if they're infectious.

The one article notes that a followup with one of the new rapid tests should help provide clarity as to whether or not a person should be considered sick or contagious. That may be what they're doing in the NFL? Seems like they had a lot of "false positives" that all came back negative immediately thereafter.

That study's findings were not on masks, but that close contacts by living with a COVID + person or going to restaurants/bars were associated with contracting COVID. It stated that people that had positive COVID tests were twice as likely to have gone to restaurants/bars/coffee shops than people who tested negative. The argument is you can't effectively wear masks in those situations. It did not come to the conclusion that mask wearing is ineffective at preventing spread.

Which is what I said. They showed that masks were essentially irrelevant. The same number got sick that always wore them as did those that never wore them when compared to the control. So why bother with them if they aren't helping?

I've already posted that data and it does NOT show any effectiveness of the masks.

Health researchers have consistently found strong correlations between wearing a face mask and reducing the spread of disease like COVID-19.

But new posts on Facebook inaccurately claim that wearing a mask makes you more likely to contract COVID-19, misinterpreting a survey from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention along the way.

Our hamsters are safe!

There was a mink farm in WI that had some positive cases last week.

1. They have mink farms?
2. Maybe they should try something there....they had a bunch of mink deaths.

Between Florida FB and Alabama today, things could get interesting. Remember, the players are only part of the equation as most coaches are old.

Despite major protocols, masks mandates the virus still spreads. Sounds like Saban is asymptomatic.

Are you assuming there's been diligence on those protocols?

Baylor can't be the only team flouting ways to avoid getting it.

To a point, yes. Given Sabans messaging on masks and Alabamas football culture in general and the impacts to missing players and now coaches. Simply pointing out even the most well intentioned and adherence policies don’t stop a virus.

Yeah, watching games on tv, the difference in compliance with these things is night and day between watching our games and watching a lot of the southern teams. The results are predictable.

That isn't what this study was designed to look for. It did not make that claim. It did state that 70% with COVID in this study reported always wearing masks, along with 74% w/o covid reported always wearing masks. I did not make conclusions about an individual wearing a mask, in fact it made recommendations to wear masks if there is an exposure at home.
