Just watched the two interviews from McDermott on Clone Zone. If those don't get you a little excited I don't know what does. I have always thought Greg has been pretty honest in his assessment of the team in the past and it just seems like he is pretty enthused about the prospects this year. Have to really believe the Gilstrap is going to help us a TON!!

His quotes that they will be disappointed in 8th and other statements make me fully believe that NCAA is a goal for this team at a minimum. I really think they look at Missou from last year and feel if they can get in the top 4 in the league then who knows what will happen in the postseason.

Can't wait.

He really has the team buying into the "play as a team" philosophy this year especially, instead of looking at just one person

I've never seen Brackins so level headed, confident and driven. All of these guys get me pumped for this team. Let's hang another Banner!!!

I've got to say I'm excited to see what this group can do with the talent and the depth they have. I like that we have some older guys on the team who can really mentor and set an example for the rest of the team. It sounds like they are ready to start playing.

This. Listened to him on the ride home on KXNO. Wow.

Kept getting asked about himself and kept going back to the team. LOVED his response to "how do you feel about other teams putting a target on your backing and thinking if they shut you down, they win".

Seemed a bit amused by it, noted that's totally fine, his teammates will surprise them, etc.

IMO, this team will have no lack in confident leadership and IMO, that's been a missing piece. Petey was a great floor general/leader - but wasn't that guy you depended on. Craig is both.

Great post. Just think about how Craig has gone from the highly-recruited and expectations of his freshman year, to hitting the freshman wall and almost quitting, to being the undisputed leader of the team and a guy with an NBA future.

This is gonna be fun!

I would like to add in the past Mac has scheduled teams that would benifit his team and didnt put them in too tough of situations. Now he has upgraded that schedule a lot showing he has confidence in what this team can do.
