I'd bet that making Captain Marvel overpowered was pretty low on the list of things people disliked about that movie

However, my main point is that the multiverse storyline was not well received by the average moviegoer. Some stories are better in comics versus trying to make them appeal to a mass audience.

The problem was poor execution. When Into the Spider Verse comes out at the same time and does it 100x better you see how it can be done. MCU failed with it. That’s fine there are tons of good stories to tell.

Solid points. I really like Into the Spider Verse. I think the animation style paired nicely with the story.

I'm sure the multiverse can be done well as a live action, but I guess I've been a bit underwhelmed by MCU's take so far. Loki was probably my favorite MCU effort, but it lost my interest at times. I think I like to shut my brain off a bit for these movies. For me, I would rather see more time spent on character development versus needing exposition about what time lines and universes I have to pay attention to.

I completely disagree. The problem is not sticking to the source material. For example, Captain Marvel is ridiculously overpowered compared to the comics.
To clarify, I don't want you to think I'm crapping on the comic book crowd at all. I just think the MCU's main success has been using the characters to tell good stories that appeal to both the comic crowd and the average viewer. It can't be a fun thing to try to balance since so many are passionate about the source material while another large chunk just want to be entertained

They did mke Captain Marvel overpowered. IMO they wanted a Superman like character for the MCU and failed at the execution.

Well, as much as I like Brie Larson, I dont think she was the proper fit.

The thing is, the closer they stick to well received comic stories, the better the movie usually is.

That looks pretty impressive. Rumors were they completely stopped production and threw out their first go around on this series and replaced it with what we are seeing a trailer for. Hopefully they don't do him wrong again like we saw in She-Hulk.

Has anyone checked out the animated Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man series? It's on my radar to check out, but I haven't taken the time to watch it yet.
