While that trailer does look good...it also looks like "Discount Suicide Squad" IMO.
It feels like it has a different tone though than that movie. Those characters were straight-up bad dudes. These have layers to them that make it really interesting (potentially). There's no Harley Quinn though, I'll give you that. She made that movie.

Side note has anyone started Agatha All Along yet? I watched the first two episodes and it was interesting to start. Nothing groundbreaking, and I enjoy the creepiness and bizarre stories, so will see this one through. Kathryn Hahn is great as usual though so I can at least count on that.

I am just not sure what the point of this series will be. Much like a lot of the D+ MCU series.

Honestly, hard to tell at this point. I'd say I'm intrigued enough at this point, even though I can't say I'm yet hooked into the series. We'll see where it goes from here.

I have some hope, but the payoff better be good. A lot of these series start out strong then turn into crap. There have been a couple of cringe moments, but nothing that really takes away from me wanting to know what happens next.

I think it's pretty good so far. I hope they stick the landing though.

Watched the first couple episodes and think it's ok. I like Halloween and it's got that fun spooky vibe that fits this time of year well. I don't expect much of it but some dumb fun and I can get my wife to watch it with me so that's a plus.

Agree with this aspect. Its why I enjoyed Werewolf By Night as well.

Agatha has been solid so far. My wife loves Halloween, Witches etc. So it has been a fun one for us to watch together.

I'm headed to see Venom: The Last Dance Tonight. I'm curious to see what I think. I've heard the movie is EXTREMELY short once you take out the long post-credit scenes and credits.

None of the Venom movies are long. Venom was 112 minutes, Venom 2 was 97 minutes. Venom 3 is listed at 109 minutes.

I generally don't mind a longer movie if the time is used well, but I feel like the shorter run times for Venom movies is about right.

Saw Venon: The Last Dance last night and I figured the best way to non-spoilery review this movie is through a bunch of questions:

Was it stupid? Sure
Was it well-written? Naw
Was there plot-holes and logic fallacies galore? For sure
Was it fun? Yes
Is this movie more bonkers than the previous Venom movies? Yes
Was it entertaining? For sure
Did I laugh out loud multiple times? Yep
Will someone who liked the previous Venom movies like this movie? Probably
Will someone who didn't like the previous Venom movies like this movie? Doubtful
Is this the best of the Venom movies? Unsure..... will have to dwell on it a little longer

I’d be entertained by Aubrey Plaza reading a phone book, but this is a rare Marvel property where I know absolutely nothing about the comics source.

I read Plaza’s character is “Death” but surely it cannot be the same “Death” cosmic god from the comics? Thanos has unrequited love for Mistress Death and it’s what drives the entire infinity gems story. She’s the least comedic character possible so I cannot see Aubrey Plaza.

Would you recommend Venom trilogy to someone who has:
A: read lots of Spider-Man comics and animated series
B: likes most (almost all) Spider-Man movies
C: thinks even half of MCU movies/series aren’t worth the time the past 4 years

Asking for a friend who somehow has seen none of them.

Well said.

I liked it. Had fun at the theater! Doubt it wins many awards but I got out of it what I had hoped :)

Tough call honestly. There is a reason why all the Venom movies have pretty low critic Rotten Tomatoes scores but decently high audience Rotten Tomatoes scores. They are goofy popcorn flicks that ride high on the fun dynamic between Venom and Eddie, rather than having a compelling script at all. In a lot of ways, they remind me more of a comic book movie made in the 90s rather than one made today. They are also all pretty self-contained and don't tie much into anything else, even though they do tie a little bit in a weird way. I'd say its 50-50 whether your friend likes these movies. To me, I take them for what they are and somewhat consider them a guilty pleasure.

That's kind of what I've gathered. I'll probably watch someday at least in the background when they're on some streaming platform I have anyway, which isn't always the easiest with Sony movies.

Keep in mind these movies are still produced by Avi Arad and Amy Pascal, and I've made it known for years my disdain for those two. I consider both of them to be complete morons. These movies all still check the box of a movie produced by those two, and that isn't a good thing.
