Ok, this is definitely when I start to go in hibernation mode for Avengers: Infinity War. If I look anywhere, the floodgates seem to be opening on rumors, interviews, and information about the movie. I used to be super into that stuff, but I've just had my theatrical experience spoiled too many times lately that I've just had to cut it off. Therefore, other than catching a few things, I'm pretty much calling it quits and just waiting for the movie. Definitely no more trailers or TV spots for me.

I also dived into Jessica Jones: Season 2 yesterday by watching the first episode. So far so good I'd say. Nothing spectacular yet, but I'm intrigued at least. Really liked The Whizzer for the bit he was in it. I'll be interested to see where this season goes without Kilgrave as the villain beings how he was by far my favorite part of season 1 and why I liked it so much.

Just started Jessica Jones as well. Pretty much the same thoughts as you and I am 2 episodes in.

I finally saw Spider-Man Homecoming - great job and easily the best Spider-Man movie. I liked that all the characters were actually teenagers. BTW don't watch it with your 7 year old.

Infinity War trailer looks really good. We'll see how it is when it comes out, however I'm really curious to see how they do any plot or character work with the number of people in it. It basically has to be a 2 hour fight scene right? Honestly I don't have a problem with that either.

I officially HATE spoilers and trailers. Far too many movies give away much more than they should in the trailers. I prefer to go into a movie without any preconceived notions or knowledge of how it's going to go down. And I definitely hate when they ruin the best parts with trailers.

In the past I've seen trailers with spoilers and I just wait the whole movie for when I know something is going to happen. It ruins the experience for me.

I'm curious why you say don't watch it with your 7 year old if you don't mind saying. Not knocking that decision is all. Everyone has to make their own decision there. Just curious which parts in particular were your biggest struggle. I'm a parent myself, but my daughter is much younger (age 3). Truthfully, right wrong or indifferent, she is already watching and loving the MCU films, but I kind of bank on her not really even comprehending the more adult language and jokes right now. Maybe it changes when she gets older. Probably the closest comparison for me in my own childhood was Ghostbusters. I absolutely loved that movie and watched it a million times from as little as I can remember. However, I now watch that and realize how many crude jokes and language there actually is in it that I didn't even notice as a kid. That scene where the ghost is seemingly unzipping Ray's pants to do oral on him..... whew..... definitely didn't catch that as a kid. Truthfully, that scene probably trumps any scene in any MCU movie for crude. I'm surprised that even made it past the editing bay for a kids directed Ghostbusters movie.

I watched it with an 8 and 10 year old and didn't really have a problem with it.

There are some "teenage" themed moments I think I remember, but nothing over the top for me.

Ghostbusters wasn't a kids film - it predated the PG-13 rating, and there wasn't enough in it to consider it "R" rated. I didn't remember that scene either, and it's because we had the TV edit when I was growing up. There are tons of films out there with PG ratings that are much-more in line with the PG-13 rating.

My kids just watched Ghostbusters for the first time 2 weeks ago. I distracted my 5 year old daughter during that particular scene you mentioned, but that was it. I haven't had an issue with my kids watching the MCU films. I think the Starlord quote (regarding Jackson Pollack) in the first GotG movie has been the only MCU moment where I felt uncomfortable with my kids in the room.

I think you raise a good point on the TV edit. The version I always watched as a kid was one that I taped off of a TV broadcast at one time with commercials and all (this is the old-school way I used to watch a lot of movies as a kid). Therefore, maybe most of this raunchier stuff I missed as a kid with Ghostbusters was due to the fact that it was cut on the version I saw.

Actually we watched Ghostbusters with them at Halloween and definitely caught that pants unzipping thing, they didn't get it, but yeah that was pretty awkward too. Sticking with animated for a little while longer with them.

While watching Homecoming my 7 and 5 year old both turned to me to ask what porn was, and both repeated some of the bad language some of which they just haven't heard yet.

Ah yeah, I could definitely see that porn one being a biggie with a 7 and 5 year old. Kind of forgot about that part.

Black Panther has surpassed the first Avengers film and is now the highest grossing comic book adaptation at the (domestic) box office with $630 million (so far). Not just highest grossing MCU film, this is the most successful comic book film of all-time and ranks 5th of all films at the box office.

My guess is that this will be a short-lived victory and Infinty War will surpass it next month.

Captain Marvel has officially begun production and it was announced that 3 new cast members will be appearing in this film that have previously appeared in the MCU:

Clark Gregg will appear as Agent Coulson (not really a surprise)

Djimon Hounsou who played Korath in the first GotG

Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser in the first GotG

So this movie is set in the '90s? I did not realize that. I am a little confused on why we would not have already seen Captain Marvel then if her origin story happened back then? Or am I just being stupid?

It's set in the 90s, but I have no idea why we wouldn't have seen her. It's almost like they're trying some kind of Sentry thing where people forgot her.

Important note: That last idea is from my imagination. I haven't seen anything indicating that. I'm just at a loss to figure out why essentially Marvel's first super-hero on that chronology wouldn't have appeared yet.

This is literally starting to make me not like the movie. It was a good movie, but no where near top 5 of all time level.
