I guess I'm one of the lucky few who married a woman that enjoys the action/comic book/sci-fi movies. She would actually get upset with me if I watched one without her.

Mine does too. She hates the X-Men movies though. Just cant get into them, but will watch any of the others and enjoy them

After seeing that about the movie being out, I watched DirecTV 3D pay channel on Wednesday night.

Thursday I went and bought (apparently forgot to put this on my Amazon list) the BluRay and watched the 3D version.

BluRay was better across the board plus you get the behind the scenes stuff on the other disc.

Owning these has sure enhanced my perceptions of quite a few movies, most notably Age of Ultron and Jurassic World.

I actually prefer Age of Ultron over the first Avenger's movie. I find myself rewatching Age of Ultron more than any of the other MCU films (although Civil War is making a good case to take it's place).

Interesting. Can't say I'm even close to in that club. I will give you this though, I actually enjoyed Age or Ultron more the second time watching it than the first, and I do still enjoy watching it. However, that has tended to be the case on a lot of the films lately that have kind of been a mess/all over the place plot wise and editing wise, where I've enjoyed them more the second time around. Batman v Superman was also in that club, and I'm guessing Suicide Squad might jump in there too. That doesn't mean that I consider them really good movies now or anything. My view hasn't improved that much.

That is the new Agents of Shield Season 4 Ghost Rider extended promo that is out. Not gonna lie, Ghost Rider actually looks kind of good in it. At the least, we know that they know how to put out a good promo.

Another promo:

Did anyone actually watch the first episode when it aired?? If so, what was your thoughts of Ghost Rider?

I watched it.
They have too many things up in the air right now that they are trying to keep at a mysterious level. It might pan out into something really good or it might blow up badly.

I'm not a Ghost Rider guy, but they did OK with him. Most of his extra-violent things occur offscreen, so you just see the shock in someone's eyes when they happen. It looks like they have some possibilities there, but also some real limits with a Ghost Rider so devoted to family and kind of confined to a limited area.

They have a theme that everyone has something they settle down for (can't remember the exact phrase) that they're running with for Quake right now. They showed it with Ghost Rider's brother, it'll be a thing for Fitz and Simmons, probably Coulson somehow, but it sounded like the driving theme for Quake this season.

Overall, it was OK. There's potential for this one to go either way right now. A lot may hinge on the actual revelation of the new Director and how this Quake thing plays out.

Thanks for posting your take. One thing I always hate too is that they always stack a bunch of their budget into the first episodes of TV series in order to wow and hook watchers for the rest of the season, especially with all the AOS seasons so far. Therefore, I always watch the first episode knowing that this is pretty much as good as it will get from a special effects and action standpoint until maybe the end of the season. Therefore, if the first episode isn't at least good, it doesn't bode well for the rest of the season. My guess is that this is no different this season, especially with Ghost Rider in the mix. In the end, producing Ghost Rider is expensive, so don't expect him to show up in his true form in cool ways too often. Again, that is the crappy thing about a TV budget verses a movie budget.

FYI.. also, sorry I don't have opinions to give yet myself. I still refuse to watch any season of anything week to week. For one, I hate commercials and for two, I get so much more into stuff when I'm binge watching something. Therefore, I usually just wait for stuff to arrive on Netflix and watch it when I want and at my own pace. With that said, right now I'm pretty stoked at my upcoming lineup of shows hitting Netflix very soon. Supergirl (Season 1) just hit Netflix this month, Luke Cage will be at the end of the month, and then all the other CW shows like Arrow (Season 4), The Flash (Season 2), and Legends of Tomorrow (Season 1) should be likely arriving in October. Not sure how I'm gonna handle all that awesomeness. I love watching all the CW stuff mixed together in chronological order to get all the intended effect of all the crossovers. Fun stuff. Of all of those, the following is probably my ranking of anticipation for watching:

1. The Flash (Season 2)
2. Luke Cage
3. Supergirl (Season 1)
4. Legends of Tomorrow (Season 1)
5. Arrow (Season 4)

Looks like Punisher might be starting filming soon, which means we may be getting his solo series more sooner than later. I've always wondered whether his series will be before or after The Defenders series, and this might lead me to believe it might be before. It is also hard to tell whether this might just mean he'll be in The Defenders too, which starts filming later this year. Regardless, it means we'll see the Punisher in some form pretty soon, which is cool.

Also, probably the most interesting thing in the article which came from NYCC was near the end of the article when they brought up the creator of the Punisher in the Agents of Shield panel at NYCC and said we'll know more about why they did this later in the season. Could this mean that The Punisher might be showing up in Agents or Shield and maybe squaring off against Ghostrider??? One has to think that is what they are getting at. With that said, that would be pretty amazing if it happened and would finally add some connective tissue between all the different TV series outside of just a random Easter Egg here and there.

I'm not really a Ghost Rider guy. I'm really not a Punisher guy.
If they were to bring in Punisher to square off against Ghost Rider, I'll just find something else to do.

You didn't like The Punisher in Daredevil Season 2??? I guess to each their own. With that said, I'm curious who your favorites are?

I don't have Netflix. I've just never been a Punisher guy.
I always lean towards the classic ones like Cap and Spidey, but I know tons of people like Punisher stuff. I always figured I could get that somewhere else and like it more.

Like you said, to each their own. It's not a real big deal.

Hmmm, interesting for sure. I get it. Since he doesn't have any superpowers, there is definitely equivalents to him in other non-superhero movies for sure. Some are probably even better equivalents. If it helps the cause at all though, I'd say this version of the Punisher is the best one we've seen yet. Jon Bernthal is definitely a home-run casting for the part. Again, if that isn't enough to tip the scales, oh well. It is also worth noting that if you love the MCU and aren't watching any of the Netflix stuff, I'd say you are really missing out on a lot of good stuff, particularly some of the best villains in the MCU. Shoot, if it is a money thing, you could easily just sign up for the free month trial and hammer out all 3 of the seasons out so far in a month. All the series are only 13 episodes, so they don't take quite as much time as many 22-23 episode TV shows out there.

I'm just really old-school in hero preferences.
In terms of signing up, I try not to get after everything Marvel related. I want to pace myself on it.

10 episodes into AOS season 3 and enjoying it for the most part so far.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts when you finish up the season. I too probably liked that season at around the episode 10 mark as well. I'll spare you on telling my thoughts for the rest of the season until you actually finish.

I will let you know. So far enjoying the mystery of what's on the other side of the portal, Hydra being in the ATCU, and the cat and mouse game between Coulson and the ATCU lady. Hoping to see some more inhumans. Will say that I am getting sick of Ward being the villain. Not really a fan of him or his acting.

Hey, at least Ward is better than Agent May..... Man, I really wish her character would just die and go away forever....

I would be down for The Punisher being in AOS. Could be cool. Only concern is that the Netflix Marvel world and AOS have a very different tone and feel.
