The cartoon Tick series was great. I tried to watch the first live action Tick and couldn't stomach it.

SPOOOOOON!!!!!
The scene begins with the Ancient One standing in the middle of the set, which is fully formed on three sides, about 50 yards wide and probably 50 feet high all around. Every inch is detailed, weathered, and constantly sprayed with water by crew members to keep it looking as old and musty as one would imagine.
Mordo walks up to her and says, “Perhaps I was wrong about him.”
“We shall see, any second now,” the Ancient One replies.
“Maybe I should…” and just as Mordo finishes that, a portal begins to open, and they both smile.
It’s Stephen Strange, in thin gray wraps, his beard covered in snow and ice, conjuring a portal by making a circle with his hand. He then stumbles through, falls to the ground in Kamar-Taj, and looks up in shock. Though it sounds like a seemingly simple scene, Derrickson shot it for about five hours. Different falls, angles from behind and around every character. Over shoulders, from the ground. The left, the right. Having an immersive set like that allows for this. And while there isn’t an actual portal there, there is an LED light circle, about six feet tall, that blinks for Strange to walk though and will later be enhanced with digital effects.
Hopefully, it’ll bring in fans not just of Marvel movies, but others too. Though Strange is the 14th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it exists almost entirely in its own world. “If you didn’t know this movie was connected to 13 movies before it, nothing in this movie would indicate that was the case,” Feige explained. “This is very much a standalone introduction to a very complex character and a very complex world. Everyone in this movie knows more than Strange. Everyone is more talented [than him] for 90 percent of the movie.”
I keep forgetting that Favreau didn't direct Iron Man 3 - I thought that was the perfect ending to the Iron Man trilogy. I think it's great that Favreau is still involved in the MCU but I'm glad he's allowing new filmmakers add something new and fresh to these films. I would maybe get excited if he and RDJ teamed up for an Iron Man 4 in about 5 years where the mantle of Iron Man is passed on to the new hero in the comics, Riri Williams.
Here's an interesting ranking for you, Trigger: rank the MCU based on the directors. Would the Russo's be at the top of that list?
1. Russo Brother's - Winter Soldier and Civil War
2. Joss Whedon - Avenger's and Age of Ultron
3 Favreau - Iron Man 1 & 2
4. James Gunn - Guardians of the Galaxy
5. Shane Black - Iron Man 3
6. Kenneth Branaugh - Thor
7. Joe Johnston - Captain America First Avenger
8. Peyton Reed - Ant Man
9. Alan Taylor - Thor The Dark World
10. Louis Letterier - The Incredible Hulk
List looks good for the most part as compared to mine. To me, Whedon and Favreau are probably interchangable at #2. Otherwise, Shane Black is probably a little too high and Peyton Reed a little too low in your list, especially considering what mess Reed came into to make Ant-Man. Moving to the future though, if James Gunn can do at least the equivalent on GOTG2 as he did in GOTG 1, he should jump well over both Favreau and Whedon. Ultimately, both Favreau and Whedon directed one amazing film each and produced one somewhat stinker each. However, based on other recent works by the those two directors, I'd say Favreau is an even better director now than he was when he made Iron Man 1 (he pretty much just winged that film). Not sure I can say the same for Whedon.
Anything after Gunn is pretty interchangeable I probably could have put Branaugh in front of Shane Black because Thor was really well-done for the time it was released. I had considered ranking James Gunn higher, but Whedon got the #2 spot because I felt the energy and charisma was pretty consistent for both of his movies, especially considering he was working with a larger cast and had to balance all those characters. Favreau's high ranking is because of how strong I thought Iron Man 1 was (it's my favorite of the franchise) and I felt that was enough to overcome the negatives from Iron Man 2. I'm with you - Gunn will easily surpass Whedon at #2 if GotG2 is just as good as the first installment.
Winston Duke has joined the cast of Black Panther as M’Baku, better known as the villain Man-Ape.

So far that's two villains confirmed for the Black Panther movie: Man-Ape and Erik Killmonger (played by Michael B. Jordan). I find it curious that Ulysses Klaw hasn't been confirmed as a villain yet, even though he has already made an appearance in Age of Ultron. I'm guessing he will appear at some point in the film (like a post-credits scene) and could be the villain in a potential sequel.
The Defenders
Actress Simone Missick has confirmed that Luke Cage’s Misty Knight will return for the crossover series:
"I believe I’m safe to say that I will be on The Defenders. Spoiler alert! If I lose my job because of this interview, sorry! I was supposed to be onThe Defenders, until I got fired."
I watched the first episode this morning, too. Pretty solid. Not holding back on the violence or skin.Just caught the first episode of Luke Cage. Very solid. Love the Harlem tone they are going for. Cottonmouth as a villain is already solid.

I have big server upgrades going in for work this weekend. Between that and watching football, I most likely won't be able to see many more episodes over the weekend.
Finished AOS Season 3 and started Luke Cage over the weekend. First, thought season 3 was good. Definitely still some cheese and bad acting in AOS but it has come a long way from the 1st season. I thought season 3 was one of the better seasons of a comic book TV show outside of the Netflix stuff (DC TV stuff included).
Enjoying Luke Cage so far. 5 episodes in. It's very good. I'd say the thing that is keeping me from enjoying it a little more is that Cottonmouth isn't quite as good of a villain as Fisk or Kilgrave IMO
Thanks for your thoughts as I find them very interesting. Definitely a little different than my thoughts. For one, I thought Season 3, particularly the back half of the season, was a pretty big step down from Season 2 for AOS. Also, as for Cottonmouth, I actually really like him so far and put him on par with Kingpin and Kilgrave. I'm also getting the feeling we haven't even seen the best of him yet when he gets really desperate. Got lots of episodes left so far. I guess we'll know soon enough.
I guess my problem with Cottonmouth so far is that he doesn't seem much of a match for Luke. It seemed like Kilgrave and Kingpin were always a step ahead and could match up with Jessica and Daredevil. Like you said though, still lots of time left and we may not have seen his best yet. And to be clear, I think he is a good villain just not quite on par with the other 2.
