Expected contribution: After playing four games in 2016 on special teams, Alexander has been battling Evrett Edwards for a starting position. “He’ll be the nickel guy — definitely nickel and linebacker,” defensive coordinator Jon Heacock said of Alexander. “He’s very versatile. He plays fast. The experience and understanding of what we’re expecting and what we’re doing with that role — he learned it last season after being here a year.”
