Bold move, suck so bad they pay out your whole contract in year one. Usually guys play along for 2-3 years. Maybe he thinks the Cavs and Browns have the same ownership.
Won’t be surprised in a year or two when Michigan gets investigated and their title vacated. It’s Michigan basketball, total cesspool. Beilien might not get in trouble directly but that doesn’t mean nothing happened under his watch.
Oh my goodness I didn’t realize there were strict requirementsIf you don’t know how to use the phrase, don’t use it.
I think you try to talk to him just to see if he entertains it, but you still have to retain in the back of your mind that the will need replaced soon.Anybody who wouldn't take Beilein as the coach at Iowa St, has way too lofty expectations about who they think they can get.
Yes, but since 1948 Iowa St has only had 2 coaches that were here 7+ seasons.I think you try to talk to him just to see if he entertains it, but you still have to retain in the back of your mind that the will need replaced soon.
I wouldn't take him solely on the age factor alone. He coaches for 5 years, we attain a modest level of success, and then he retires leaving us with blue balls. Sound familiar?
He gets us to one sweet 16....that is the same as Prohm. I'll stick with Prohm over Beilein at this point. This is silly. He went to three Sweet 16s in his final 5 years at Michigan including a title game appearance in '18. I'd take him if it meant one Sweet 16.

If Beilein was 57 and not 67 I'd be all aboard that train
But he had Michigan in the tournament 8 out of 10 years from 10-19. Prohm is at 3 out of 5 and trending the wrong way. You can keep Prohm, but if a guy like Beilein is available we have to take him.
I would love Beilein, but I have to agree with cyfan92. That is just too advanced of an age. He would feel like a rental to me. If you were to tell me we could win a natty or get to the Final 4 with that rental, sign me up. But I don't think the risk would outweigh the reward
Exactly, we haven't had a coach since Orr stay in Ames over 5 years. People who wouldn't take Belin for 5 years aren't using common sense.Pretty much all of our coaches have been rentals since Orr.
Prohm will last 6...at least. Larry would probably still be here if he didn't have a drinking problem.Pretty much all of our coaches have been rentals since Orr.
