A lot of games worry me due to our DB situation. ASU, BYU, KU and TCU worry me. All have good QBs and offenses.

3 at home hoping is a help. By time we play them I think the defense will be more settled in.

They overcompensated today for 2 new corners, and it cost them. They made adjustments in the 2nd half, the long pass was a killer but that was gonna be the risk you run.

They are a tough minded bunch and will be okay.

The thing I struggle with is that this season is effectively worthless if they don’t make the conference title game. Particularly in this new era of CFB. I expected ISU to compete for a championship, and I don’t think they have the horses to do that anymore. So what if they go 8-4 and win the Texas Bowl or something? It doesn’t really mean anything when a championship is the goal. Shows how spoiled we’ve been the last 9 years, but expectations have changed

What if they're 8-4 or 9-3 and make the conference title game? Or drop the Iowa and KSU games but still end with those overall records and make the CCG?

8-4 certainly does not make the conference title game. 9-3 probably doesn’t do it. They were fortunate to get in last year at 10-2, if we’re being honest.

I would trade 10 straight losses to Iowa for 1 Big 12 championship. That would be the peak of Iowa State football and realistically is probably as good as it will ever get for us.

Any margin for error Iowa State had has been completely wiped out after today’s game. They cannot afford to lay another egg the rest of the way, which feels unlikely when you look at the schedule
