I will disagree he is a below average recruiter.
He’s far from an average in-game coach, especially in year eight at ISU. So many wasted timeouts, so much clock mismanagement, and so little hurry-up offense when absolutely necessary.
I can't disagree. Really disappointed in the play of the defensive backfield for ISU. Got beat on 2 deep shots that were basically you go long plays. Their QB dropped several great passes during the game, but several times there were guy ridiculously open. Not sure if Memphis just knew the ISU playbook or what, but their LBers were blitzing on every running play. Sama had no chance.
I’ve been thinking about this. I think I settle out at average. Way too many home runs to be below and way too many misses, particularly on the OL to be much better. I generally like what they do and their plan but you have to win some of those battles like R Mason, Purchase, etc and yes I know going forward that’ll be close to impossible. That’s why if money is part of the equation, you cut bait for multiple reasons.
The R Mason Thomas flip really hurts because he looks like he’s going to be a beast
There have been some guys that flipped on us that really hurt
Miyan Williams to Ohio State
Xavier Townsend to UCF
Plus Purchases brother choosing Oregon over us.
Oh well, those are the breaks.
Same problem all year. Cannot stop run without safety help. Play action and recievers run right by our safeties for a long pass.
Don't sell corn dogs. In Memphis it is mostly Pronto Pups,
May seem strange these days but back in the day it was very common place as it allowed complete coverage with mustard.
Everywhere in the South where Bemis sat up his Pronto Pup trailer they used a brush to add the mustard,
Remember a national racing magazine did a story about our local track and the name of the article was Mustard Brush Nationals
It's a corn dog, some regional branding that uses a similar but slightly different batter doesn't mean it's not a corn dog. We don't call Detroit style pizza "burnt ass pie" we call it pizza.
Batter is different from a corndog.
The PP has more of a pancake batter type coating.
Up in Minnesota both go head to head at fairs.
While similar in nature the tastes are significantly different.
Just as a White Castle slider and a Krystal look the same but the taste is very different.
These guys play a competitive sport, nobody that’s competitive likes to lose. I never had fun while losing when I was in sports growing up.

Our fans will go to the n’th degree to defend our coaches like they are personal family members.
Coaches that didn’t attend Iowa State (or play sports for ISU), or grow up Iowa State fans, or pour the heart and soul into Cyclone athletics for decades. Coaches that were external hires that make a boatload of money to coach a college sports team.
Criticize ‘em at all and (correctly) point out their shortcomings, and/or express frustration of their coaching decisions, philosophy, player development, etc. = pitchforks. What a silly/sensitive fanbase we are, Cyclone Nation.
I’ve seen a lot of posters—unable to actually defend Campbell at this point—openly say that we should just embrace mediocrity and expect nothing better than 7-5 seasons.
