He probably just wishes them he, Hall, and the other players got the credit they deserve for the work they did for free, rather than the guy who gets paid $4M a year but can’t manage a live football game.
You need to move on from this.

I will disagree he is a below average recruiter. After 8 years, Campbell is what the record says he is; a slightly above .500 coach (53W 48L).
He can take a team like this year with many new faces and a significant loss of starters, go to a bowl game and finish 7-6.
He can take a preseason top 10 team with 3 All Americans and finish 7-6.
He's an average in game coach.
He's an above average developer of players.
He's a below average recruiter.
Nothing more, nothing less.

I can't disagree. Really disappointed in the play of the defensive backfield for ISU. Got beat on 2 deep shots that were basically you go long plays. Their QB dropped several great passes during the game, but several times there were guy ridiculously open. Not sure if Memphis just knew the ISU playbook or what, but their LBers were blitzing on every running play. Sama had no chance.Their QB was excellent. Their Dline was great. Their play calling was excellent.
I’ve been thinking about this. I think I settle out at average. Way too many home runs to be below and way too many misses, particularly on the OL to be much better. I generally like what they do and their plan but you have to win some of those battles like R Mason, Purchase, etc and yes I know going forward that’ll be close to impossible. That’s why if money is part of the equation, you cut bait for multiple reasons.I will disagree he is a below average recruiter.

There have been some guys that flipped on us that really hurtThe R Mason Thomas flip really hurts because he looks like he’s going to be a beast
Same problem all year. Cannot stop run without safety help. Play action and recievers run right by our safeties for a long pass.I can't disagree. Miyan Williams to Ohio State
Xavier Townsend to UCF
Plus Purchases brother choosing Oregon over us.
Oh well, those are the breaks.
Don't sell corn dogs. In Memphis it is mostly Pronto Pups,Can anyone report back of they still use paint brushes to put mustard on the corn dogs?
Love them.
It's a corn dog, some regional branding that uses a similar but slightly different batter doesn't mean it's not a corn dog. We don't call Detroit style pizza "burnt ass pie" we call it pizza.Don't sell corn dogs. In Memphis it is mostly Pronto Pups,
May seem strange these days but back in the day it was very common place as it allowed complete coverage with mustard.
Everywhere in the South where Bemis sat up his Pronto Pup trailer they used a brush to add the mustard,
Remember a national racing magazine did a story about our local track and the name of the article was Mustard Brush Nationals

These guys play a competitive sport, nobody that’s competitive likes to lose. I never had fun while losing when I was in sports growing up.Probably an unpopular take in this thread, but I really wouldn’t object to the players going into this game just wanting to have fun…like a little vacation. Winning a bowl game like this obviously wouldn’t be bad, but it’s hard to convince me it really matters.
I hope you guys get a Liberty Bowl bid against an SEC team (y'all gotta be sick of us lol) some time starting in 2026...you won't recognize the Liberty Bowl after 220 million is put into the 60 yo girl.

No, the fans need to be more demanding. You need to move on from this.
You think he's not holding himself accountable to even 1% of why we lost? Not even 1%?No, the fans need to be more demanding.
$4 million a year for the same mistakes and predictability, without any accountability on CMC's part?
Our fans will go to the n’th degree to defend our coaches like they are personal family members. No, the fans need to be more demanding.

Coaches that didn’t attend Iowa State (or play sports for ISU), or grow up Iowa State fans, or pour the heart and soul into Cyclone athletics for decades. Coaches that were external hires that make a boatload of money to coach a college sports team.
Criticize ‘em at all and (correctly) point out their shortcomings, and/or express frustration of their coaching decisions, philosophy, player development, etc. = pitchforks. What a silly/sensitive fanbase we are, Cyclone Nation.
One of the major differences is that most Gopher media/fans were saying this before sending their five win team to the Quicklane.Saw this editorial in The GopherHole and thought is fit perfectly here. Guy reflecting on the minor bowl the Gophers had just played in a column titled Do Bowl Games still matter? I thought his take was pretty good.
Today during the Gophers’ thrilling 30-24 victory over Bowling Green in the prestigious Quicklane Bowl, two things dominated my timeline; Cole Kramer and Katie Miller’s upcoming wedding and people telling me, “It doesn’t matter it’s the Quicklane Bowl.” So I asked myself, like most fans of college football do around this time of year, how important are bowl games? - Tony Liebert![]()

For all of the P.J. Fleck and Big Ten West dissing, the Gophers have won seven straight bowl games. Not great bowl venues but still winning them is better than losing them.
