Per ESPN.

Becomes 8th player to win 3 MVP awards. Previous 2 were with Cleveland obviously.

Has won last 3 out of 4.

4th player to win it with 2 different teams.

He deserved it, no one had a better regular season than him. I still hope he chokes in the playoffs this year though.

They should wait until after the playoffs to see if he takes games over in the 4th quarter before giving it to him. You cant go bye bye at the end of the game and be considered "Valuable".

My thoughts.....

Korked Bats ‏ @korkedbats
"LeBron James wins his 3rd MVP award" just doesn't have a nice ring to it.

honestly he should be on his 4th in a row right now

he deserved it over rose last year but there was such a hate for his move to miami that they happily jumped on the rose bandwagon

hopefully next year the durantula starts his own streak

That's why they have the finals MVP. For what he did during the regular season alone he deserved this.

Ehhh, Kevin Durant?

To me the MVP is not 'most valuable', but rather 'best overall'. Durant is probably more valuable though.

Lebron has better stats and is a better defender, just not as many points as the Durantula.

So what you're saying is D-Rose shouldn't have won last year. Because he didn't come through for his team.

That's just not how it usually works, if they gave it to the player who was truly the most valuable every year (as in the player every GM would want the most and was the most responsible for winning titles) Jordan would have twice the number of MVPs he got.

With LeBron there is also the very real notion of fading in fourth quarters and now actively deferring to Wade in fourth quarters. In their Rose-less loss to the Bulls LeBron just became a side kick in the 4th quarter as they lost except for one three he hit.

Best player in the league, and it's not really that close right now.

Most talented, EVER, and it's really not close in my opinion.

Best player in the league or most valuable? That is definitely in question. There's lots of games where he's clearly not the best player on his own team or not the most involved when games are on the line. Durant is the best clutch scorer in the league and best player in the league at creating his own offense. Over the years that's been a big part of the MVP award, so Durant is definitely right there with LeBron in terms of MVP. He also improved his all around game a bit this season.

In my opinion no d rose should not uave won it. Who was the most valuable after the season to there team? D rose or dirk nowitzki. Even though dirk is not the popular choice last year they don't win it without him and isn't that what its all about in the nba?

Lebron is more of a facilitator than Durant though.
